This bright 15 year old wouldn’t put up with blowhard Al Ghoul ... he doesn’t even know that water vaopr movement around the earth isn’t included in his scam global warming predictions.

The rains come shortly before the mudslides, don’t they?

Bad news: The earthquakes trigger mudslides.

Good news: The mudslides put out the brush fires.

Is she home schooled, or given over to government schools?

"Welcome to Ponder the Maunder, an extra credit assignment for Honors Earth Science, Portland High School, by Kristen Byrnes of Portland Maine."

I believe the young lady has earned full credit.

All Kristen did was look at all the evidence and maintain a sceptical view while she did it. Anyone who does this will come to the same conclusion.

Kristen’s website, however, shows that she has, indeed, a very bright future. There is more factual, detailed information about climate change on her website, than any other site in the world.

Besides beating the IPCC to the punch on Australia’s drought, she also beats them to the punch with a real factual analysis of the climate change issues.

Keep it up Kristen. When you get your PhD and prove that the global warming hysteria is overdone, you will get the Nobel about 10 years later.

The inimitable Puke and Snot have their own version of this, involving Minnesota.

Their version includes Deer, Road Salt, and other mayhem...

Cheers!

A very interesting read and a very bright girl.

Well, if the drought in Australia and New Zealand is indeed ending...

Hmmm i think the person who wrote the article is slightly geographically challenged here. New Zealand is not in drought condition. The 1200 mile distance between New Zealand and Australia makes for two separate weather systems.

Kristen was referring to a NewsBusters' article about New Zealand's favorite weatherman, Augie Auer...

You may be interested to know Augie hails from Wyoming, and migrated to New Zealand in 1990 after a previous sabbatical during 1984-85. This link here gives another interesting insight to his views.

The Weather Channel should hire her. She can actually read charts and stuff and doesn’t yank the forecast out of her butt like most TV weatherpukes.

I wonder how many Freepers who read this story and have teenage daughters pointed out this article and then asked their daughters what they have DONE lately.

“I’d love to see 1970s winters again.”

- Your observation proves just how tricky global warming observations can be. In my area, in the 1970’s we had about two to three times the snowfall that we have had in the past few years yet, strangely, the winter temperatures have not risen. At the same time, several hundred miles south of us people have experienced huge snowstorms that they never had before. I take this to indicate that the upper air air jet stream has shifted south somewhat from it’s 1970’s pattern allowing us to escape the more severe storms of the past. Why this is so and how long it will last are questions yet to be answered but I doubt that carbon dioxide emissions are the answer.
