“A Giuliani victory will drive Christians out of the GOP”

Isn’t that the real goal?

Ain’t gonna happen. What with his support for gun control, illegal immigration, abortion, the homosexual agenda etc. etc. he isn’t going to be nominated.

"Millions of Christian conservatives, the party’s shock troops—the ones who volunteer, man the phone banks, pass out leaflets, pound the pavement—will detach themselves from the GOP."

Not to mention the millions of GOP voters who get registered and encouraged to vote in their churches!

The Christians will only be the starting point.

Sort of support Christian conservatives forming their own political group. On many issues, they can ally with Republicans, but can also champion morals, a Christianization of society, (and support Creationism without as much insulting—though some of the nastiest mudslingers are fellow Christians), etc. Somewhat similar to the CDU in Germany or the BQ in Canada, except instead of being specifically regional, they could align themselves or split up from the Republicans as they see fit.

We don’t need an entertainment celebrity at all. We need a good commander-in-chief—one who has military experience.

He is often portrayed in the media as a hawkish conservative.

But true conservatives regard him as a pro-death RINO.

There are especially two candidates who are so far off the
Republican map they could never get nominated let alone elected.

Rudy, with his extreme liberal social views

Ron Paul with his far left anti war and Michale Moore comments.

Millions of Christian conservatives, the party’s shock troops—the ones who volunteer, man the phone banks, pass out leaflets, pound the pavement—will detach themselves from the GOP. The party’s base will be fractured—perhaps, permanently.

Man, you were way ahead of your time. I clearly remember you making an almost similar statement on another thread to Cincinatus' Wife about a month ago.

"The great sin of slavery was that the system denied the essential humanity of America’s black population. Encoded in law was the pernicious—and evil—principle that an entire class of people was less than fully human.

"The same barbaric logic applies to abortion. It denies the essential humanity of unborn babies, consigning an entire class of people to be murdered because they are falsely viewed as being less than human."

Excellent!

These two statements should be repeated and repeated again until every American is exposed and can understand the implications of them.

Further, the "barbaric logic" of abortion, claiming as its raison d'etre "a woman's right to choose," thereby arrogates power to only one class of citizen (a woman) to deprive all others of life and liberty.

That "barbaric logic" causes Jefferson's summation of the underlying principle of our Declaration of Independence and constitutional protections to take on new meaning for the 21st Century:

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time. The hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."

Been saying this all along.

Rudy will push down Christian turnout in West Virginia, Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa, and Minnesota. Contrary to certain BS polls you may see now, he WILL NOT bring California, New Jersey, or Connecticut into the GOP column, particularly once the Dem candidate is finally known. Bad choice.

Anyone who thinks the GOP stands for God is an idiot. Does anyone think that losers like Dennis Hastert and Mark Foley represented God? The GOP is a political party designed to limit socialism, nothing else.

The author of this article and those with the same viewpoint need to realize something: there is no perfect candidate, so they might as well stop searching for one.

Ronald Reagan himself was aware and acknowleged that he had many shortcomings and made a number of mistakes in his life. That included formerly supporting abortion and living the Hollywood lifestyle between his first and second marriages. That didn’t prevent him from achieving greatness.

If this level of nitpicking had existed in 1976 & 1980, Reagan might not have been the Republican nominee.

"Ever since Barry Goldwater, the Republicans have become the country’s conservative party. The party stands not only for limited government, low taxes, capitalism and strong national defense, but for something even more fundamental: God, family and bourgeois civilization. The GOP has been the only national political institution willing to defend Judeo-Christian morality from the relentless secular liberal onslaught of the 1960s. At the core of this defense have been abortion and the traditional family. Giuliani’s brand of social liberalism will fundamentally alter the nature of the party."

Amen! I agreed with this article. I will not be voting for Rudy Giuliani. I urge everyone here to fight for a solid conservative candidate, like Duncan Hunter. Also, continue to expose the endless crap that spews out of the cesspool that is Rudy and his campaign. Hopefully we can stop him before the general. If not, the Republican Party will swing to the left and be changed forever. I refuse to vote for him either way.
