Message from LibertyRocks:
Dear FRiends,
I know its been a long time since Ive posted here, and for that I must apologize I do hope you are all doing well. Our family has been going through some rough times the last few months...
We just found out yesterday that my husband is going to be needing surgery for a herniated disc (L4-L5) sometime within the next month or so. We go for a consult with the surgeon on the 13th of June.
Kevin has already been off work since the end of January, and the conservative treatments have not worked. Weve almost exhausted our savings at this point. Ive stayed home and homeschooled my children working jobs when needed over the years, but now I must try to find career type employment to make up for my husbands salary.
Im not worried about being the breadwinner as my husband is a wonderful father, and will make a great teacher and homemaker but I am worried about rejoining the workforce and being able to find a job that will bring in enough money to support our family.
I am struggling right now with anger towards myself (for not finishing college), and Im having a hard time being optimistic. Couple that with my fears for my husbands health and well-being and... well, as you can probably imagine my cheeks are pretty tear-stained right now.
Please pray for me and my family, especially that we will make the right decision as far as which surgical treatment to get, and that I will be able to find adequate employment we dont need much, but several dollars more per hour than I received at my last job.
Also please pray for me, as I am trying very hard to have faith and trust in the Lord, but being human sometimes it is hard...
Thank you for your time, and thank you in advance for your prayers on my familys behalf. I really appreciate it.
God bless all of you...

Prayers up!
About 8 years ago I also had 2 herniated, and actually ruptured disks. Life was living hell for a number of months, until I got my surgery: discectomy and laminectomy, by a good neurosurgeon (not an orthopod).
About two weeks after the surgery, I was back in fine shape. (It took a couple of weeks for the bruised nerves to heal up fully. It was, ah, nerve-racking until that happened....)
Hang in there!
Praying for LibertyRocks and her family.
Prayer going your way. I sincerely hope that you find an adequate job as soon as possible that will support your family. May your Husbands surgery be successful and that he is able to find employment as soon as he is up to it. Prays to the children as they no doubt worry about Mom and Dad and keep up with their school work during this transition. Prayers up to dad as he educates his children -a fantastic gift to his children. Mom has already given her charished gift of education to her children and now they are upstanding citizens.
Prayers on the way!
Prayers and patience, everything will be alright. Have faith.
This is a frightening time for you.
Lord, give Liberty and her husband a peaceful and calm mind. Bless them with your comforting presence, make the way smooth, strengthen their resolve and give them nights of good and peaceful sleep to refresh them in the mornings. In Jesus’ name we ask.
My 36 year old daughter had this surgery 3 years ago. She was in such agony that she begged for the operation. Three days post-op her disc re-ruptured and she had a 2nd surgery which was higly successful. She’s back to being a full time Mom and ,though cautious, she does almost everything physical she always did. Everything she tried short of surgery was useless.
My 31 year old son just had a herniated disc, near the neck, operated on 2 months ago. He went surfing last week. Wouldn’t recommend that activity.
Best of luck to all of you. I’m sure your husband will be in top form before too long.
On a side note if you have a Costco in your area they pay a pretty decent wage and have great benefits.....
I will keep your family in my prayers. May you find good employment that pays the bills and may you decide on the best option for your husband’s treatment.
Prayers for this fine woman and her family.
I join in urgent prayer for LibertyRocks and all the family!
