Mary Cheney gave birth today to perhaps the most anticipated baby in contemporary U.S. politics -- her first child, Samuel David Cheney, whom she will raise with her longtime partner Heather Poe.
The 8-pound, 6-ounce boy is the sixth grandchild for Dick Cheney.

They’re sneaky at that age!
Given the dire predictions of those people on this thread, we better go right down and lock up the liquor.
Sorry, deliberately bringing a child into the world without a daddy is anything but “honorable.” It’s self-centered and selfish.
^^^^^
Needs to be repeated until everyone understands the difference between this conception and a child conceived naturally who may not have an upbringing with both parents for various reasons.
As Toby Keith sang, “Whose your Daddy?”....
Your comment is just stupid crap. The alternatives here were not childbirth or abortion. The child was DELIBERATELY conceived with no father in sight so two self-absorbed lesbians could have a new toy to play with. That is evil--whether the mama(s) in question are left-wing nutcases or relatives of our conservative VP.
My opinion (not that you asked): Mary C. was in politics for about 8 seconds during the last election. She’s a private citizen. So, let her enjoy all of the rights and benefits of a private citizen, which include not have a bunch of folks mucking around in her personal life.
Oh, and I agree completely that I am not a loving man because I am a woman.
Thanks for that info snugs.
Sam Cheney’62!
My guess is Birkhead or Stern......
Right.
To share in the happiness of our Vice President on the birth of his sixth Grandchild, Samuel David!
At this moment the other circumstances should not matter. You can rail and rant against it tomorrow. Right now some decorum should be in order.
How’d you like to live next door to some of the folks on this thread? They’d be out at dawn measuring your lawn with a micrometer and gossiping about the pitiful state of your trash cans...
So you favor taking away the free speech rights of everyone else? What if they talk anyway? Shall we stone them? (Okay I'm just kidding about that last part. I thought I would throw in an example of the drama I get from the morals-are-evil crowd.)
Being a private citizen does not place you above criticism. And we are talking about author Mary Cheney who wrote a book about herself which she sells to the public.
You have it all figured out, don’t you? And your definitions are the only ones that matter, aren’t they?
I am surprised you are a woman.
I think they give “morality” a bad name.
So you favor taking away the free speech rights of everyone else?
No, just in favor of a return to good manners, which oh-so-many-years-ago used to include an embargo on public scolding on births that were not “traditional.”
I really didn’t have to share in his happiness. I certainly didn’t get a card from him when my granddaughter was born to my son and daughter-in-law. The IVF bothers me more than the homosexuality. Talk about a sexual morality that is upside down.
Tragic and sad for this child. What selfish and arrogant people the two women are.
Children are born daily without fathers,,,war, accidents, suicides, rapes, desertion. Are they the product of self centeredness and selfishness?
&&&&&
The difference is that the children you list above know who their fathers are. One of my best friends lost her husband in a traffic accident when she was pregnant. Her daughter knows all her aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and has had a close relationship with them.
