Killer who shunned appeals is executed
May 23, 2007
FLORENCE, Ariz. A condemned killer who fought to drop his appeals, saying he owed it to his victims, was executed yesterday by injection.
Robert Charles Comer, 50, was the first inmate put to death in Arizona since 2000. He had been convicted for a 1987 crime spree in which he killed a camper east of Phoenix and raped a woman in front of her boyfriend. Comer was quiet as he lay strapped to a gurney before his execution. He looked around at the more than 20 witnesses.
When the warden asked whether he had any last words, the Northern California, native replied: Yes, go Raiders.

Figures...Raider Nation.
Good riddance to this thug.
Speaking as a native San Diegan and lifelong Bolts fan, a ride on the needle is too merciful for the silver & black goons that call themselves ‘raider nation’.
That is such a noble sentiment.
I hope he’s burning in hell.
I live here in AZ. I am amazed at how often various groups and people will be completely for a “womans right to choose” to have a fetus murdered, but be against the death penalty. In this particular case, they should have granted his wish years ago.
even though he fought against it himself, the taxpayers still supported this POS for 20 years. Nice system we have.
5 teardrops? Doesn’t each one represent something?
That’s what I was thinking. Why did it take so long to “honor” his request?
The teardrop tattoo originally was worn in prison as a symbol that you had killed someone, to warn them away.
Later it also became a gang tattoo, among the Crips and Bloods and others.
It could certainly mean that he is boasting that he killed five people.
Very fitting tagline from the Great Frederic.
Today’s liberalism means that you must protect the lives of guilty mass murderers and sex predators while killing innocents who have no voice nor the ability to give their consent or act upon their free will.
The death penalty isn’t used enough to be a real deterrent.
Typical Raiders fan
The original meaning is debatable. What Cicero says may be true, it may be a gang related statement of having no mercy for anyone; it doesn’t matter. Anyone who has tears tattooed on their face is scum and exactly why is not relevant. I have never met anyone with tears who I would trust near me when I could not see their hands.
Thanks to both of you for the feedback.
I don't know. Have to admire his honesty.
What is that, some kind of underbite? Dadgum, couldn’t the state spring for some dental work for this poor, misunderstood person? Where was the ACLU?
[Sarcasm, people!]
It must be nose to cheek in Hell, as crowded as its getting.
I’m impressed this guy wasn’t resigned to whining and crying like a child. So many “adults” in this world don’t take responsibilities for their own actions no matter how horrendous they may be. He took his punishment like a man, if he believed in justice then I am obliged to take him at his word.
After he burns for his sins. He may have a chance, after all Jesus did give everyone a chance. Part of redemption is recognizing what you did was wrong and accepting your punishment.
