IOW, Phillips was not “versatile”...an empty suit.
Ann Curry is good. I like her.

Sounds like the kind of thing you do just before you shut down the newsroom.

Anyone using a name like Stone Phiips deserves to get cut off at the pass. Just another liberal “journalist” getting his butt fired. Good riddance to him.

I’m not surprised by this. Most animatronics are terribly expensive to maintain (even the primitive ones like Stone).

IMHO I think they dropped Stone because he is not “touch, feely” enough for today’s audiences. People want feeling, the sympathetic sounding voice with personal and pitying sounding words sent out in a pitiable way. Stone reported the story, no elaboration and with no identifying touchy, feely words or body language. In my second humble opinion, I think he is the most handsome man ever to be a reporter for the MSM. Good luck Stone!

I always had the impression that Phillips was just hired for his looks, voice and name. Lately he has been looking much older. Maybe that has something to do with it.

You know, I might care, but I do not even watch the “major” networks anymore so I have never really seen his ‘work’. Actually, after spending 97-2000 in Germany with only AFN, I do not watch TV much at all. I came back to the USA and all I saw was garbage. I watch very little TV (1-2 hrs a week) and I think my life is much better.
After 9-11, all the networks put on was MORE garbage combined with “all-Bash Bush and lie about the war all the time”. Thus now I automatically flip past the “major” networks, CNN, MSNBC, and the other socialists to watch History, Discovery, and very few others. When I was in Iraq, the DFACs played CNN and all it did was sour my stomach and raise my blood pressure.
After being in Iraq and seeing the MSM lie about events I witnessed along with their propensity to know EXACTLY where a bomb will go off and have cameras ready, I could truly give a rat’s rear end about “poor Stone”.
This is not to say that I am not interested in the story. Far from it. It is one more indication that the People of the USA are waking up, though the media is still in denial. Now they just have to go and vote the left out of office. Staying home in 08 is NOT an option. Letting the leftists control Congress and the White House will cause nothing but pain for the world and America.
