Search continues for missing Soldiers Staff Sgt. Angela McKinzie 2nd BCT PAO, 10th Mtn. Div. (LI) Multi-National Division Center PAO
YUSUFIYAH, Iraq Search efforts continue for three missing U.S. Soldiers who are believed to have been abducted by I Saturday in Quarghuli Village, Iraq.
Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) from Fort Drum, N.Y., and the 4th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division have been conducting non-stop searches for the missing Soldiers - all assigned to the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd BCT - since their abduction.
The brigade has been constantly searching for the Soldiers since their abduction, said Col. Michael Kershaw, 2nd BCT commander. As soon as we were aware of the incident, we immediately cordoned off the area and started the search.
The brigade, which is made up of about 14 company-sized elements, is using almost all of its elements both to search and to provide logistical support to Soldiers on the ground.
We have been averaging about 20 events a day and were providing cots, food and water to those assisting with the search, Kershaw said. Aside from searching the area, Soldiers have been continually asking Iraqis for any information they may have in regarding the incident, hoping the tips will lead them closer to the Soldiers.
Although some tips may not be accurate, it is important for each one to be investigated, said Maj. Rob Griggs, the 4-31 operations officer. All tips must be considered important, because you never know if it is the one that will lead you to the Soldiers.
Everyone is motivated and knows the importance of finding the Soldiers, Kershaw said. They all take pride in this brigade and their fellow Soldiers It is in the Soldiers Creed to never leave a fallen comrade.
Search efforts will continue until the Soldiers are found. The families back home need to know that we are not going to stop searching for the Soldiers until they are found, Kershaw said. They (the families) need to know the Soldiers in this brigade are doing everything they can to find these Soldiers.

Update ping.
Prayers up! Thanks for the ping.
Prayers for both the searchers and the soldiers (and their respective families and friends too).
I think about them every day. My prayers are with them - and with their families.
But I thought that if we let Amnesty International and the ACLU tell us how to treat captured terrorists that that would “protect” our troops if they were captured and they would be treated humanely according to the Geneva Convention!
America’s finest.
The Geneva Convention applies to Nation States, not to Ali Babba and his 40 thugs.
May God be with the searchers, the missing and those who wait at home for news of their loved ones.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RELEASE No. 20070511-04 May 11, 2007
Wolverine Soldiers find cache near Radwaniyah 2nd BCT, 10th Mtn. Div. (LI) PAO Multi-National Division Center PAO
RADWANIYAH, Iraq Coalition forces discovered a cache south of Radwaniyah, just west of Baghdad Thursday. Soldiers of 1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) out of Fort Drum, N.Y., working with soldiers of 3rd Brigade, 4th Battalion, 6th Iraqi Army Division found the cache during a combat patrol. The cache contained four rocket-propelled grenade warheads, three mortar boosters, an RPG accelerator and two flares. The cache was destroyed during a controlled detonation conducted by the explosive ordnance team.
These men are foremost in my thoughts each day.
We need to keep hope alive.
Prayer up for these guys. Let’s stomp these dirty bastards into the dirt.
My sincerest PRayers for these brave men.
Home of the free because of the brave.
Agreed but the socialists tell us that we must treat these savages as lawful combatants because if we do that will “protect” our soldiers from any mistreatment but what really happens our guys are killed and the so called human rights groups are very, very silent!
BTTT
I have a feeling the press knows they will be found, otherwise we would hear endless “Soldiers held hostage- Day 5” reports with hourly updates, if they thought it would help embarrass Bush.
Continued prayers, Soldier Dad..
Thanks for the update!
Ms.B

Climb to Glory!
