I vow to oppose this legislation supported by Senators Edward Kennedy and John McCain. It provides a vast new immigration benefit to millions of illegal aliens who have broken our laws to live in the United States.I opposed the 1986 amnesty act because of this same reason. It proved to be the draw that we predicted it would be.I am deeply disappointed to see history repeating itself.
This package will confirm to the world that the U.S. does not really mean what it says when it comes to immigration enforcement. As a result of the citizenship benefit included in this legislation, despite the fine print, we will see a stampede across our borders.
This vast new amnesty and expansive guest worker program will surely be ridden with fraud and abuse, and ultimately lead to millions of public-assistance-dependent immigrants.
The Senates decision to blatantly ignore the Secure Fence Act signed into law last year and only require construction of 370 miles of fence, as opposed to the 854 miles mandated by the law, is a dramatic failure of this legislation. The San Diego border fence has proven that fencing works. The time has come to quickly implement the Secure Fence Act, not retreat from its mandates.
I believe that this package will result in lower wages for Americas already-struggling families by encouraging the importation of cheap foreign labor rather than investing, developing and growing a domestic workforce that will sustain our economy far into the future.
Amnesty is not the answer.Border enforcement must be first and it must be comprehensive. To do otherwise is to repeat the mistakes of the past. This Senate bill is bad for Americans, bad for our workers, bad for law enforcement and, most importantly, bad for national security.I will fight it.Please join with me.

Yes and no. SS is a pay as you go system. The revenue that is "surplus" to the system, i.e., the amount left over after benefits, is put into the General Fund and can be spent on anything. The Treasury issues non-market T-Bills for the "surplus" and deposits them into the SS Trust Fund. The SS Trust Fund really represents a liability not an asset, which is why the SSTF is included as part of the National Debt under intragovernmental holdings.
So the illegals' SS contributions could be seen as adding to our national debt. Their contributions have already been spent.
I literally can’t wait to vote for Duncan Hunter.
AMNESTY = give them amnesty so THAT their voter registration will not be considered SEDITION and ESPIONAGE.. and so they can VOTE democrat for HITLERY..
I had no idea you were a chick. LOL
Hunter/Pence ‘08!!
Great photo, pissant. Great man, too.
The more Duncan Hunter says and does, the more I like him.
We were cheering the House republicans. Were you?
I don’t see how anyone who is concerned about the border could even CONSIDER anyone else for President.
The mods or Jimrob must have put it in breaking news.
I did not. Regardless, there is only one candidate with real authority on the subject, and it ain’t the big three.
Bravo Duncan!
If my man, Mitt, wins, I hope Duncan Hunter offers his services to the Romney administration (and vice versa, of course).
I signed onto the Hunter campaign early. They sent me some bumper stickers, but that's all. They have no organization here in Florida and the whole thing is run on a shoestring. That's not good. What I could give and perhaps what all freepers could give combined is but a tiny drop in the bucket of what is needed to get his campaign jumpstarted. I have to confess, if Fred Thompson gets in (he'd better HURRY!) I'll jump ship for his campaign. I think Hunter is more of a valid "conservative" than Fred, but I think that Fred can win. In fact Fred might be the next Reagan in the drawing power he will have with those conservative and disaffected democrats that used to be known as REAGAN DEMOCRATS. Heck, my late mom was one.
Or for that matter, anyone concerned about murdering babies, or anyone concerned about the 2A, or anyone concerned about getting the best CIC to polish off the terrorists.
“My man Mitt”. That could be the title of a TV show. ;o)
Just a thought...I'm so pissed off about this sellout that I could chew nails, and we must do something...anything to stop these CRIMINALS from destroying our republic.
Because someone at FR likes Hunter!
Thats good enough for me.
EXACTLY! All other candidates are squishy on the issues that matter.
