Can you believe it?! Total sweeping amnesty with just a slap on the wrist isn't good enough for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). Oh, no, it must "improved" (read: loosened up even more!). Oh, and how much do you want to bet that the extra 18000 border patrol agents, fencing and guardposts get "lost in the shuffle" come conference time, or never appropriated for! This is a scam, ladies and gentlemen, and I, for one, ain't buying it!!

I have heard/read that D.C. reps mailboxes are full. They are really getting an earful. I know mine did from me this afternoon. McCain is one of mine. I am sure it is an exercise in futility. It is staggering to me that these people do not see or maybe simply do not care, how pissed off the average person is over this farcicle bill and what it is going to mean to their futures. I believe they really do think it is all going to blow over once it is done. We are being sold out and once it is a done deal my association with the Republican Party and its candidates is finished. And I know I am not the only one voicing this today.

I'm feeling pretty disillusioned today. I mean, we have men and women dying in battle right now trying to protect this nation. Now the Democrats and not a small number of Republicans have effectively disintegrated our borders.

What are we fighting for again?

I am having a lot of trouble justifying our soldiers being put at risk abroad while our politicians work to dissolve our nation regardless of the effort of our troops.

This amnesty will alter our political and cultural landscape by tainting it with an illegal and criminal element that never respected our laws to begin with.

Then again, our own house and senate doesn't respect our laws and the President has consistently refused to protect our very borders.

Really, I'm having a lot of trouble reconciling our foreign policy when our domestic policy seems to cancel it out.

Why did our soldiers have to die if we're just going to cease being a nation of laws anyways?

That may just be a ruse to get the abominable bill passed.

Subject: Immigration

Dear Congresscritter,

This is absolutely shameless behavior. Just what part of illegal don’t you folks in Washington understand?

Seal the borders. Enforce the law.

Sincerely,
OLA

This should be separate issue and come first.

The deal will also raise the number of H-1B visas, used by American universities and companies to find skilled workers like scientists, medical experts and computer programmers, from 65,000 a year to 115,000 a year.

Ahhh, this got slipped in also. I was wondering how this would happen. Disgust is too mild a word for my feelings.

I believe this is all part of the script. Roll out Pelosi and Reid to say the bill is not enough and is too strict so that the RINOs can claim “victory” (i.e “this is the best deal we could get”). It’s all been orchestrated long ago.

"It is intended to reflect the labor needs of the United States in the 21st century, rather than the 19th century," a senior Republican staffer said on condition of anonymity. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I guess we need the modern day equivalent of slaves and indentured servants to benefit those businesses who need cheap labor.

Prediction:

That cheap labor won't last long, watch for a socialist revival with many, many Mexican "American" members, strikes, and demonstrations and riots. The Southwest will become just like the rest of Mexico is now. Poor, destabilized, and drug ridden. Many established Americans will fight it, and violence, gangs and possees will become the order of the day.Law enforcement will be stretched and our international enemies will try to infiltrate and arm them.

While our soldiers are bleeding and dying in Iraq, our politicians who sent them over there are busy selling out our nation. They will return home to a nation different from the one that they left --- thanks to our traitorous politicians in Washington.

My support for the war in Iraq has just waned overnight with the announcement of this sell out amnesty package.

I hope Reid and Pelosi really believe that the Bill isn’t socialist enough. We need as many votes against this treason as we can get. I am afraid, though, that they are merely posing as “upset” to soothe the wrath of true conservatives. I am sure the RINOs will try to sell this treason as “hey, Reid and Pelosi are against it, so it must be good.......”

Too strict for Pelosi and Reid - they want to grant citizenship to OBL and all the Jihadis in the world who support the defeatocrat agenda.

I don’t believe anymore that this is “total sweeping amnesty”. It’s not pretty, but it’s possible the only current illegals who get to stay will be those who have been here 4 years and have worked 90% of the time they are here and have paid taxes and learned english.

If you believe the talking points, a majority of the illegals won’t pass this test, and will have to go home.

I think I could live with a bill that faithfully enacted the talking points, IF they were amended to build the entire fence authorised last year.

The fear I have is that the talking points don’t accurately reflect the bill as it is written now, OR what will become of it when Reid/Pelosi get their claws into it.

I do think we need to compromise from the “no amnesty” position, because when asked the way MSM will ask it and frame it, a majority of americans don’t actually want to purge the country of all 12 million people currently here illegally.

My opinion of course is that we don’t, and that we want to pick and choose from the 12 million the 5 million or so that are the BEST of the bunch. That means those who pay their taxes, have been here 5 years or more, know english, are integrated into society, and have held a job 90% of the time, and pay a fine and pay back any government service money received.

That actually sounds a lot like what the talking points are describing, but I have written all my representatives telling them what I want and to oppose this plan and get one that is more like what I want. That’s how nervous I am, I might be telling them to vote against a program I might support.

I sent e-mails, I called but the main offices were “full”, so I called their state regional offices and left messages.

I recommend everybody call their home offices, since they will all be home this weekend anyway.

We can do nothing less than demand impeachment proceedings against the president, and begin to remove from office those senators and congressmen that support this.

America is already 1/3 foreign born. You add the 60 million or so illegals and their families and suddenly the demographics of this country are changed so that native born citizens are the in the minority, the people who should be preserving our American culture of liberty will become insignificant in numbers.

Anytime the word “comprehensive” is used it means the bill contains stuff that is totally unpalatable on it own merit and so must be included in a “comprehensive” bill. Bush and the scumbags have cooked up a disaster.
