Walter Reed MOAB Attends Local Restaurant's Armed Forces Appreciation Day, May 15,2007

The Walter Reed MOAB was honored to be placed over the entrance to a local Olney/Laytonsville, MD., restaurant, Dave's American Bistro, for their day long celebration.
Dave's American Bistro is located at 5500 Olney-Laytonsville Road, MD Rte. 108, just down the road from the Olney FReeps. The owner (BELOW LEFT in blue), who disavows any family relation to the "sheehag", Kevin Sheehan, along with his better half, Judy (BELOW RIGHT in yellow/blue stripe), opened the restaurant to all military personal for a day of free food, beer and music. But the idea started when he learned Maryland National guard Units, Brovo Co., 1st Battalion; 175th Infantry Regiment and the 99th MP's were heading out on May 25 for a month of training for their second tour in Iraq.
Looks like the Olney FReepers may have a new place to have lunch.
BELOW: Senior officers of the NG Unit. We got some email and web info from them.
There was a steady stream of military starting at noon. We set up the MOAB around 11AM and came back later that evening to take some pictures. Below are pictures of the activities later in the evening. There was a Hawaiian theme this day. Pictures by [Mrs] T.

There was a real good attendance from the NG unit, but the owner was still getting the word out to others and ran short of time. I should have also put something on FR but time was not on my side.
He got a lot of stuff donated, including the four bands.
He also plans on doing this again. Since we now are in communication with Kevin, hopefully we can better help spread the word.

It was fun. We talked to some of the troops, especially the officers, but didn’t want to intrude or take too many pics of their day.
One more thing the biased MSM never covers.

[Mrs] T and I just got back from scouting out Dave’s place by actually having dinner. We recommend going here after the Olney FReeps, especially in the summer. They have an outside patio where we can smoke our cigars.
There menu includes Eastern Shore crab cakes, fancy Angus burgers, and some other tasty sounding plates. And it's no more expensive than a normal restaurant.
