Like many of you I am incensed that our representatives are ignoring the will of the people. They think we are asleep because we didn't make a big enough stink. I think it's time to change tactics.

I remember Latin America, my last memories before I left were tanks in front of my house and my mother and I under house arrest because they were looking for my father. If that is what you want america to become, then, by all means do nothing.

The letters and petitions our family members are sending demands that if they do not want to uphold the oath of office by enforcing laws that protect and defend the American people they should resign now.

Might be a nice additional comment to add to phone calls and letters everyone makes.

Very astute observation! I am interested in the history of all the areas you mentioned yet never considered this. They are very, very parallel.

Thank you for clearing up a lot of things. And, helping us "un-poltical" types get our voices heard.

You bet I'm mad. I've been betrayed by my government (them). And sold out in favor of illegal immigrants.

I believe there is a total lack of communication, between "them" and "us."

We say, "we want something done about illegal immigration." They say, "we're fixing it (by giving illegals a fast track to citizenship...and hey, bring the family as well)."

I guess we need to say, "Send every illegal and even children born of illegals back to where they came from - NOW!"

(anyone want to take a guess of how many more illegals are running across the borders since they heard how easy the American politicians were making it?)

INSTEAD INVEST IN POSTAGE STAMPS. There is nothing more impressive than postal service trucks showing up at congress with bags full of envelopes with paper mail.

I have a vague feeling that this is correct. The problem is, whom to address and whom to ignore in addressing the mail?

I would not waste my time writing to genuine nutjobs like that stoned driver Migden, Boxer, or insane Pelosi.

How effective is it to write to my own senators and representatives?
Does it make more sense to write to committees and their chairmen?

The process is stacked against the citizen who wants to be engaged.
Checked out the rules and regulations just to do mass mailing to your neighbors? Non-profit status? It boggles the mind, and ensures only "approved players" get to play. As individuals, we're essentially political capons...
