Goodnight all and thanks for the fun.
Agreed. But our leaders need to be made to understand why we were attacked to start with which was the point he was trying to make. It's not our fault but yet we made serious mistakes over several decades that led to the conditions that allowed the attack. Putting the Shah {sp} of Iran in power was one. Selling him weapons was another. Embracing Saddam was another. Not taking Saddam out the first time and getting out was yet another.
Saddam was an evil man. But he had a small army, no air power, limited missile capabilities, and no Navy. In the meantime while we are now bogged down with the Bush Nation Building Mess in Iraq such nations as North Korea and Iran see opportunity to test us. They see our over extended and over deployed forces and act. What has Bush done to correct it? Nothing but more downsizing.
To make matters worse we can't even stay out of our greatest allies business when it comes to them dealing with terrorist acts on their soil. Let Israel do anything to deal with aggression against her and Condi is on a jet faster than you can say Mad Madalyn to act on Israels enemies behalf. What kinda messages are we sending?
Many M.E. thugs remained in power simply because the U.S. prevented their demise like Arafat. It's not just a DEM thing the GOP does this insanity as well. If Rudy can not understand this then he doesn't need to be POTUS. Until our foreign policy is corrected we can expect more grief. So far Ron Paul is the only one talking about cause and effects with future prevention. To prevent it you need to understand it and not keep making the same mistakes over and over.
How do you know that?
From all I've seen and read, Fred is the frontrunner without even breaking a sweat yet. I don't happen to believe that's a coincidence. So keep your chin up - - Fred will announce when the time is right, and timing, after all, is everything. Meanwhile, I think Fred is very busy getting his all ducks in a row. Let the rest of these candidates beat each other up for awhile. Cripes, the election isn't for another year-and-a-half.
Regards,
LH
2862 & 2864 sorry long night and tired.
I’ll agree with you on Pres. Ford’s mistake (and the mistake of subsequent presidents following along with that bad policy). I’ll have to agree to disagree on Dr. Paul’s analysis of cause and effect.
Yes, the rules have changed.
The DEMS changed the rules.
McCainFeingold stopped ads they didn’t like before elections so their media would have more power to influence choices.
They moved many of the primaries up so only big media attention or big money can win.
They even get to call a lot of the shots in the “debates”— like asking the Republicans “what do you think about belonging to such a corrupt political party?” Ssheesh louise! And “how bad a President to YOU think Bush is?”
God help us all.
Now I really have to go to bed.
Unfortunately so will our leaders meaning nothing will change. That is part of what separates our good leaders from bad ones. Here's an example. Who wiped out Iraq's first attempt at making nuclear weapons and likely ended the program? Who was our POTUS that time who did not try and stop it? A wise move on his part and a different foreign policy as well.
A lot of our problems in the M.E. would be resolved in this fashion if we would stay out of a few nations business rather than try and run the Middle East. The current Iran situation could possibly have done been resolved by our ally if we had done as much. We or rather our Sec of State was too busy micromanaging that nations problems to let them get free'd up to do anything.
my man Rudy ! this was his night IMO.
I loved the way he stood up to Ron Paul about 9/11.
God Bless Rudy
God Bless America
Iraq is a red herring. Unfortunately, the GOPers in Washington (executive, legislative) totally dropped the ball on this war. Purging our country of Islamism and deporting our illegal aliens is the number one priority now. Dealing with Iran and China are only going to be harder if we don't tidy up the anchor baby explosion -- and remember, anchor babies vote, and will be voting socialist in 2025.
Just because he was here Prior to my arival four years ago doesn’t give him a pass on being wrong.
Ron Paul isn’t a Conservative.
He’s not even a Republican.
He was at the worng debate.
And I’m sure you can prove this HOW exactly? Rush radio came to the national forefront because of the repeal of the Fairness Doctorine.
This Holier than thou attitude you and the other Liberaltarians have is reaaly disappointing.
You are NOT the keepers of the Conservative Flame.
Stop trying to convince the rest of us that you are.

I'd agree with your first and last assertions, but not the middle one.
