Hatred of Falwell by those on the left illustrates just how effective he was. The darkness hates the light.

Most of the quotes from Jesus where to the Jewish people who were still living under the LAW of Moses. Their view was so caught up in LAW that they didn’t recognize Jesus being the SAVIOUR of the World. Paul is speaking AFTER Jesus Died and raised from the Dead giving us Grace.
The change happens because of What God Does “unless we boast”.

Jerry Falwell has done much to further the cause of Christ, and is an unapologetic American patriot. Ditto...
May God bless his family and keep them close during their time of grief.
To: Jake The Goose
Thank you for the ping.
A sad day. Prayers for the family. He was a great man. He stood UP for what is RIGHT in a world that craves what is WRONG. The Bible was his litmus test for right and wrong - not many like him left ... . It is a loss for many.

Would he have wanted that? Yes, he would also want you to pray for his family during their time of grief and to also pray for America. He would also want you to pray that all peoples find Jesus Christ. He would want you to be in constant prayer, continually speaking with God.

You know that’s what I was thinking earlier. They actually HATE him, just like they hate the President. It’s an obsession. Whereas, as was mentioned before, many on the right might not like a person or his politics, but we do not wish them ill (I’m thinking back to threads about Paul Wellstone, Senator Johnson’s stroke, Bill Clinton’s heart surgery, even Corzine’s crash.)

He would want you to be in constant prayer, continually speaking with God. I can understand all of that, but I'd be surprised that he'd want prayer for the dead, what with Luke 16:26...
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

That is fine as Mr. Falwell is with God now. But please pray for his family and keep on upholding all the values Mr. Falwell stood for.

"I can understand all of that, but I'd be surprised that he'd want prayer for the dead,..."If you look back yellowdogs first posting saying, "pray for him" was at posting #3 when it was only known that Falwell was taken to the hospital after being found unresponsive. At that time they had not mentioned he was already dead.

I watched his tv show for the first time this Sunday, I was flipping through channels just before I went to church, saw that the show was on and decided to watch a little bit of it, little did I know it would be his last :(.

As a liberal, I couldn’t stand this guy in the early 1980s. After having the Truth slam me in the face, I was stunned to hear how much of that Truth Mr. Falwell knew and spoke of, fighting the good fight, trying to reach others. And how much the liberals lied. This liberal took a 180, became a conservative, and started an 11-year journey towards God.
Thank you, Mr. Falwell. You were one of my first stepping stones towards God and His grace and forgiveness. You’ll also have a special place in my heart.

The way Falwells passing has stirred up the demons in Demoncratic Underground is proof that Rev. Falwell lived his life right. That's a good observation.

He would want you to be in constant prayer, continually speaking with God.For all you know, he wants people to pray the intercession of the Blessed Virgin for him.
After all, right now, he knows.

Rev Falwell believed the remedy for free speech with which he did not agree, was more free speech. If you disagreeded with him loudly enough, you got invited to speak at Liberty U.For those reasons alone he qualifies as a great American.
