Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has launched a mobile-to-mobile text-message campaign in an effort to reach more of Americas 236,000 cell phone users.
Users who text the word "Join to 77007 will receive regular updates about the Clinton campaign, which will "ask for voters input and offer a feature allowing supporters to surf Hillarys Web site on their mobile phones, according to a statement from her campaign.
"By harnessing the power of text messaging, we can engage voters in the political process using the latest technology and provide personalized, local campaign updates to our supporters nationwide.
The text-message initiative is "a sign the campaign is hunting for every possible vote in her bitter battle with rival Barack Obama, the New York Post reported.
The text-message launch didnt go with a hitch, however. According to the Politics on the Hudson blog, the first version of the statement provided the wrong number to which supporters would send messages.

I think they meant 236 million cell phone users, not thousand.

which will "ask for voters input
They might ask for it but they won't want it...unless it comes with a big donation.

I think they meant 236 million cell phone users -the US population is 300 million, I doubt almost everyone has a phone, maybe though.

surf Hillarys Web site on their mobile phones I would sooner body surf on a cesspool than surf her web site.

terrorists and criminals buy disposable cellphones by dozens and thousands......it is reasonable to believe that she is interested in the votes of criminals and (if they vote) the terrorists......and I suppose illegal aliens use them too

I think they meant 236 million cell phone users, not thousand.Uh, I don't think there are that many cell phone users in the country. There may be 236 million cell numbers, but there are quite a number of cell numbers that are strictly used as backup communication for security systems if landlines fail to contact authorities.

Yeah I just know the Clintanoids are going to spend 24/7 reading and following the suggestions of those millions of cell phone suckers, err voters.
Reply text message from Hillary...shut up and vote for me...twice, except in Milwakee where you get three votes.

Something along those lines. I was thinking of the 2nd word being “you!” While it is simple, even crude, it would seem, based on what I read over at DU, to be so common as to be understandable by even yellow dog democrats and other developmentally challenged persons.

I've just disabled the "7" and "0" on my phone, just in case I dial that number.
I might not be able to make a few calls but it's worth it. I don't make that many calls anyway.
