Elections: France's radical leftists lost big when Nicolas Sarkozy got elected president on May 6. But they aren't going without a tantrum. Stirring up riots, they're now trying to intimidate French voters. They'll likely lose.
Through a new round of post-election riots, a nasty but determined fringe of French leftists is showing an amazing unfitness for democracy. Their "demonstrations" are not over dirty tricks, broken laws or electoral operations. Just a hatred at the result.
The rioters have alliances with various grievance groups, including France's unassimilated Muslims. But they're best described as anarchists, radical leftists and the 10% of France's electorate that votes for fringes of the mainstream socialist party.
Overturned cars are seen Monday at the Place de la Bastille in Paris following the election of Nicolas Sarkozy. They are rioting like wild in the wake of their electoral loss, and their violent tactics worry people. But when arrests are tallied, they never seem to number more than hundreds.

Kind of like the Marxist's Dimocrats here in the Fatherland.
Zackly - that’s what makes them such infantile freaks.
I suppose it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they use thug tactics when they don’t get their way. Although it proves they are utterly unfit for democracy, the reality is, they aren’t democrats, they are self-described communists. Just doing what communists do.
Just a typical way for socialist to throw a hissy fit when an election does not go their way. Trust me if we elect another republican president they will cry foul and say the election was rigged.
Kind of like the Marxist’s Dimocrats here in the Fatherland.

Without a doubt — they are the street thugs, the criminals, those without any scruples or principles. They act like just what they are — gutter slime.
These french jackasses can’t even do that much, they just scream they don’t like it and the cops are persecuting them when they set cars on fire. They are the biggest pants-peers on the face of the earth.
Cincinna:Didn’t see this one on your post-election French ping list, so thought I’d return the favor of your past vigilance.
Behold November of 2008.
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
“Without a doubt they are the street thugs, the criminals, those without any scruples or principles. They act like just what they are gutter slime.”
I feel like walking around with a piece of fried bacon pinned to my shirt as a form of “Cross” to ward off the evil islamoterrorists.
I wonder if some one makes ‘pseudo bacon’ (fakin’ bacon) out of flexible plastic? Hmmm Pink ribbons, blue ribbons, bacon ribbons????
Always the sore losers & whiners when they lose. Here in the states the Democraps/socialists/commies have the NAACP trot out Jesse Jackson and his race-card companion to start lies that there were VOTER INTIMIDATION and that blacks were not allowed to vote, etc, etc and the MSM just drinks it up.
And I really belive them; I just take one look at the "MANAGEMENT" at the local union shop and I go "uh-huh".
Our dimwits have been pitching a fit for almost 7 years. They’ve basically brought the government to a standstill with their unwillingness to compromise or listen to anything the other party puts forward. The left is nothing but a bunch of whiny 2 year old brats and that might be giving them too much credit.
unfitness for democracy
As disturbing as such violence might be, there is reason to think the protesters will not prevail. There were riot test-runs last March at Gare du Nord train station. Triggered by a police arrest of a subway fare-jumper with a long criminal record, anti-Sarkozy rioters sprang into action, smashing shop windows, hurling garbage cans and burning tires. It was all because they detested Sarkozy, they loudly declared to news cameras. It also is worth noting that Sarkozy refused to back down from calling for effective enforcement during this earlier riot, and French voters didn't crack when they were told the riot was a warning to them about voting for Sarkozy.
In fact, recent events indicate that French voters and Sarkozy act in exactly the opposite manner of rioters' aims. Sarkozy's vow to crack down at the Gare was only a statement at the time. But it gave him a decisive lead in the polls in an election that had been running even.
The entire polemic above is spun yarn, with no real relationship to the actual events on the ground. First, the riots at the Gare were caught on tape, they did not include any elements of the white French politically radicalized Left. Second, Sarkozy was further ahead the week before the riots than the week after, and while following the entire episode, it seems that the riots were nothing more than a blip on the screen, over hyped and over dramatized by France's internal tabloid yellow dog media, media which are more out of sync with French voters than almost any other Western media outside the BBC...
Does France still own Devil’s Island?
just asking... ;)
“From top to bottom the Democrat Party and their allies are an Organized Crime Syndicate!!”

This is one of the reasons they feel they have to tear down our Constitution, control thru judicial fiat, and attack all forms of human behavioral measurement, such as Christianity. They are evil, corrupt and criminal.
And there is no secret about it. And even in the face of that reality, the mindelss, selfish, protest voters turned the country over to them in the last election.
People get the government they deserve -—
Somebody must know how to say “recount” in French. Poor babies! We have a lot of French-leaners here in Sarasota.
