Howard Dean told Kansas Gov. Sebelius to Lie
Quinn & Rose Show ^ | 05/10/07 | Coffee260

Dear Freepers,

Get a load of this:

I was listening to the Quinn & Rose show this morning on XM radio when Host, Jim Quinn told his audience that Howard Dean called Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius early, around 5 am, one morning after the tornado had destroyed the town of Greensburg, Kansas and discussed with her what to say about the tornado and how to blame the war in Iraq and the Bush administration on a slow response to the aftermath.

He also said that she, Gov. Sebelius, called Senator Sam Brownback's office only to learn he wasn't there but then called him on his cell phone and reached him while he was in his car were she confessed to him that she had been instructed by her party leadership, (more specifically, Howard Dean) on how to politicize the tornado's destruction of Greensburg and attack the White House and the Iraq war for a seemingly slow response. She reassured the Senator that her allegations didn't blame him or Pat Roberts, also a Kansas Senator, for the lack of immediate response.

That would explain her public statements to the press that proved later to be untrue. She made statements to the effect that the Iraq war and the deployment of the national guard units to Iraq from her state has left Kansas without the equipment and man power needed to respond more quickly to the tornado's aftermath. This all turns out to be false and the governor herself has back tracked on her own claims.

Mr. Quinn also revealed that she confessed to Brownback that she couldn't pass up such an opportunity like this to attack the President whose approval ratings, in this hostile political climate, is so low.

These revelations are startling and if true should call into question the governors competence and her judgment. Quinn adamantly stressed that his source, who he didn't name because he was sure it would jeopardize his job, was extremely reliable and in a position that would give him direct knowledge of these revelations.

"This certainly sheds a lot of light on Katrina — and confirms the suspicions that many of us had at that time. Katrina was engineered in much the same way."

I remember that "Sid Vicious" Blumenthal had a column in al-Guardian immediately as Katrina hit, before there had even begun to be any public controversy about the federal response, in which he pioneered the 'RAT talking points. He blathered about National Guard helicopters in Iraq (even though HUNDREDS of helicopters were soon on the scene on the Gulf Coast) -- the 'RATS and MoveOn, DNC types, etc. had these talking points ready before they even knew what the actual situation might be. If all of the conversations and emails among scum like Sid Vicious, Howard Dean, Begala, and their fellow DNC and MoveOn lowlifes were available and publicized, the 'RATS would be finished as a political party forever. They live in the sewers of America, and pop up from time to time, enabled by the ENEMEDIA, to pretend they care about common folk.

If they take FR to court does that mean we get to see their phone records and see if this account is true?

There is no hate in my heart for women..
It fact - I LOVE women...
Been married to the same one for 45 years.
I happen to think it is the rare women who is capable of running a state or a nation, and unfortunately they don’t usually go into politics....

Margaret Thatcher was a rare example.

..12 lives..

thought Obama said "10,000 lives were lost.!"..Oh..Obama made a mistake.

In all seriousness, tragic either way..

Politics is a dirty game, and eventually as seen in the newest Polling Scores out for Congress' ability under the Democrats, to get things done is below the President's.

Even the NY Times pointed out the last time a Democratic controlled Congress was this low in public opinion,a Republican, Ronald Reagan won over the Presidency.

How many slanderous lies have come out of the DU posters? Maybe we should go over their "freedom of speech slander" posts with a fine tooth comb. ;)

But who has time for such petty measures. Desperation and money make for an uncontrollable combination.

John & Mary Q Public in Kansas are and will continue to help their own, but sadly without the expected interference from outside political "carnival barkers".

People help people in need. Government and political interference keeps people in need.

In a world without Big Government! One can only dream......

Did anyone catch from the Hannity interview that Quinn says he and his source are prepared for all parties denying the phone conversation occurred?

A couple of quick points on this. I’ve been listening to Quinn and Rose here in Ohio for the past couple of years. Quinn is a very intelligent man. I’m sure that he would have prepared himself for the high probability that no one was going to corroborate this story outside of him and his source. So why did he go forward with it anyway? Quinn doesn’t strike me as the type of guy to just go with something on a whim unless he really thought I through. Although maybe I’m giving him more credit than he’s due :)

Quinn mentions that Brownback isn’t likely to admit the conversation with Sebelius ever occurred. And thinking about that situation I completely agree. Let’s say the story is true and the conversation did occur as described. Brownback chose not to do anything about it and was likely just going to carry-on with life as usual. So the story breaks and now he’s in a pickle. He can’t admit to it because that essentially shows him as party to the situation for not breaking the story himself. He’s basically saying that he approves of the situation by it not being a big enough deal to tell the public about. He can’t admit to it now - regardless of it’s truth or not - because it would be a political catastrophe for him. How would he explain his reluctance to go public with the information without looking like a political goon and not a man of principal? He has to stick by his guns that it never happened - regardless of the precious damage it might cause the opposing party - simply due to the political ruin it would bring to him as well.

So I understand what Quinn means in that Brownback is certainly not going to admit this as happened at this point.

But why did Quinn break this story knowing in advance that all three parties wouldn’t admit it happened? Sebelius and the DNC are a given and Brownback for the reasons listed above.

My question is this, does Quinn have additional evidence he’s sitting on that he’s going to break? Basically laying a trap for Sebelius, the DNC (Dean, et al), AND Brownback? That’s about all I can take from this. Otherwise Quinn is going to end up with a lot of egg on his face even if he sticks to his word that his source is solid. It’ll be left to public opinion.

But maybe that was the plan all along - break the story anyway and let it be something that adds a little extra doubt to the integrity behind the DNC and the Democratic party as a whole.

Landreu conducted a press conference the day before the hurricane hit and attacked the administration re: National Guard troops. Katrina was a complete set-up from day minus one.

Too recall in such detail a conversation you weren't a party too, means on one of two things: 1.Somebody was taking pretty good notes or 2. there's a tape.
