Howard Dean told Kansas Gov. Sebelius to Lie
Quinn & Rose Show ^ | 05/10/07 | Coffee260

Posted on 05/10/2007 11:53:51 AM PDT by coffee260

Dear Freepers,

Get a load of this:

I was listening to the Quinn & Rose show this morning on XM radio when Host, Jim Quinn told his audience that Howard Dean called Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius early, around 5 am, one morning after the tornado had destroyed the town of Greensburg, Kansas and discussed with her what to say about the tornado and how to blame the war in Iraq and the Bush administration on a slow response to the aftermath.

He also said that she, Gov. Sebelius, called Senator Sam Brownback's office only to learn he wasn't there but then called him on his cell phone and reached him while he was in his car were she confessed to him that she had been instructed by her party leadership, (more specifically, Howard Dean) on how to politicize the tornado's destruction of Greensburg and attack the White House and the Iraq war for a seemingly slow response. She reassured the Senator that her allegations didn't blame him or Pat Roberts, also a Kansas Senator, for the lack of immediate response.

That would explain her public statements to the press that proved later to be untrue. She made statements to the effect that the Iraq war and the deployment of the national guard units to Iraq from her state has left Kansas without the equipment and man power needed to respond more quickly to the tornado's aftermath. This all turns out to be false and the governor herself has back tracked on her own claims.

Mr. Quinn also revealed that she confessed to Brownback that she couldn't pass up such an opportunity like this to attack the President whose approval ratings, in this hostile political climate, is so low.

These revelations are startling and if true should call into question the governors competence and her judgment. Quinn adamantly stressed that his source, who he didn't name because he was sure it would jeopardize his job, was extremely reliable and in a position that would give him direct knowledge of these revelations.

” Here’s how our pro dem/rino newspapers are covering this. “

From your link-
“ Immediately following the massive tornado that devastated Greensburg, the Kansas National Guard was called in to secure the area and begin search and rescue.”

The impression from this statement is that immediately after the tornado-the total contingent that is presently there now, was activated.
This is not true.
On Saturday there were 40 NG on site to secure the perimeter. The search and rescue was primarily done by civilian agencies.
The order to mobilize the units with the heavy equipment did not come down until Sunday am .
And that was just for a small amount of equipment and soldiers.
The order for the bulk of equipment and troops came later on Sunday.
The tornado happened at 10pm on Friday night.
Why the delay in asking the WH to send troops and equipment ?

Wrong, wrong, wrong, my friend. Sam's just another "Compassionate (with your tax dollars) Conservative."

Sen. Pat Roberts might not have before he was shafted on the National Security Committe but not any more.

If you want everyone to join this parade someone needs to put a name to “sources close to Brownback”.

Could be a Karl Rove “rope a dope” by the Dummicrats own version of Rove.

If Brownback covers for Sebelius, then he can kiss his candidacy goodbye. BTW, this story is getting big play in the Blogosphere but is still being ignored by the MSM. Big disconnect there. I wonder if Rush/Drudge will cover this?

I have absolutely no idea on Drudge/Rush but I do know it's getting noticed in the Metro Kansas City area even though it has been banned in our media.

Shows the absolute merit of talk radio and the internet!!!

MSM and network television will some day be written about in the past tense!

Send to a Friend | printer-friendly Update: Brownback says no, making it 3 for 3.

“Update: The DNC just emailed me two documents, one a letter to XM and the other a letter to Free Republic. In both letters, the DNC denies without equivocation that the conversation between Dean and Sebelius ever took place. Both are C&D notices from the DNC’s lawyers.
The statement made by Mr. Quinn is demonstrable, unequivocally, and absolutely false. Governor Dean had no such conversation with Governor Sebelius, ever.”

BREAKING NEWS From the Quinn and Rose Show
10 May 2007
Same Words — Different Mouth Piece
By Rose
PLEASE NOTE: The following is information we have received from a reliable source. We have never been misinformed by this person in the past.

After Mother Nature did a number on the good people of Kansas, Governor Sebilius did a “Mother” of all numbers on the American people — especially the people in Greensburg, Kansas.

Kansas Kathleen Sebelius had said that because Bush sent too many of our National Guard Members and resources to Iraq — there weren’t enough left to go around in Kansas. After those remarks to the media, she made a phone call to Senator Sam Brownback (R).

Keep in mind that Governor Sebelius has a decent relationship with Senator Brownback and other Kansas Republicans. In fact, she has, for the most part, led as a moderate rather than a liberal in Kansas.

According to our source; during her phone conversation with the Senator, she offered an excuse for her words to the media. She explained that because everything is so political right now — she was told not to allow an opportunity like this pass.

She went on to say that “Howard” called her around 5:00 am and told her not to ask the White House for any help, or make any statements until she heard back from him. Then “Dick” (Durbin ?) called her an hour or two later and told her to use the excuse of the Guard being at war.

Hoping Brownback would understand, she apparently went on to say that he had to understand that with everyone feeling the heat about the war, they needed to get press on something else. She said she didn’t think it was right to use it like this, but she didn’t feel she had much of a choice with current climate.

She also promised that she’d try to move away from the comment when she and Brownback were to meet up later and tour the damage.

This certainly sheds a lot of light on Katrina — and confirms the suspicions that many of us had at that time. Katrina was engineered in much the same way.

If they are going to read from the same script every time something like this happens, the least they could do is mix it up a little. The are just so darn predictable. They will do anything for political gain.

Brownback should show some spine and tell the American People and the Administration the truth. Where is his sense of deceny — where is his loyalty to his party? Quinn and I were on Sean Hannity’s radio program this afternoon. Sean had invited Senator Brownback to respond. So far, we haven’t heard anything from him.

Let me ask this of Senator Brownback; What in the world would you have to lose if you were to be honest about the phone call from the Kansas Governor? Or, perhaps this is the better question; What do you have to gain by protecting Sebelious? Do you honestly think she would be there for you down the road? Do you think she gives a rat’s ass about your bid for the Presidency? These aren’t people you can count on — when will we learn this?

Senator Brownback is not exactly the Paul Bunyan of Politics — but he could be. He has an opportunity to do what no politician has done before him — tell the truth.

I just discovered Quinn & Rose last week. In my area (Eastern Time) they’re on from 6 am to 9 am, on 96.7 fm
They are stupendous, just really sharp. You’ll like them, a lot. It may be on a “ClearChannel” station, I don’t know.

Probably you can do a Search and find their channel in your area- I think they have a website.
