Sources: Brothers Charged in Alleged Fort Dix Terror Plot May Have Been Smuggled Into U.S.

FORT DIX, N.J. — The three brothers being charged as part of the alleged Fort Dix terror plot may have been smuggled across the border, FOX News has learned. Dritan "Anthony" or "Tony" Duka, 28; Shain Duka, 26; and Eljvir "Elvis" Duka, 23, were in the United States illegally. Federal investigators were exploring whether they were smuggled into the country or entered as stowaways.

Because the three men entered the United States without inspection, there is no legal record of their entry.

The six being charged in the alleged plot — Mohamad Ibrahim Shnewer, 22; Serdar Tatar, 23; Agron Abdullahu, 24; and the Duka brothers — were ordered held without bail for a hearing Friday....

Four of the arrested men were born in the former Yugoslavia, one was born in Jordan and one came from Turkey, authorities said. Three were in the United States illegally; two had green cards allowing them to stay in this country permanently; and the sixth is a U.S. citizen.

Federal investigators are now checking whether the latter three lied on their immigration paperwork...

One drove a cab, three were roofers. Another worked at a 7-Eleven and a sixth at a supermarket. Their alleged plot to attack Fort Dix was foiled by another blue-collar worker: a video store clerk...

Weis said the U.S. is seeing a "brand-new form of terrorism," involving smaller, more loosely defined groups that may not be connected to Al Qaeda but are inspired by its ideology...

The restaurant's chef, Joseph Hofflinger, 35, quit after learning the owner was the father of one of the suspects.

"My son is in the 82nd Airborne," Hofflinger told ABC. "I won't work for a place that supports terrorism so I'm out."

There shouldn’t be a lot of outrage over this. Everyone did their job and the arrests of these guys will hopefully teach the authorities something they can use in the future. I believe that kudos are in order for all concerned.

Maybe they just waded across the Rio Grande. Just a thought.

Or just walked across from Canada.

Have they shown pictures of these men? I haven’t seen any, just curious.

I saw on the news today they had drawings of the suspects. Court drawings. And yes, they looked like you would suspect and unlike Europeans frankly.

That’s so sad. It’s hard to lose someone that young. I had an Aunt that died when she was 46 from breast cancer.

Marietta Daily Journal ^ | Wednesday, January 3 | D.A. King
Five years into the war on terror, most Americans desperately hoped 2006 would be "the year" for solutions to the long national nightmare of intentionally unsecured borders and the resulting illegal immigration crisis. For many, the dream was that at a minimum, we would begin to see border security and immigration law enforcement similar to what Mexicans still living in Mexico enjoy. It didn't happen. According to a report released in late 2006 by the House Committee of Homeland Security, up to 10 million people entered the United States illegally and un-inspected last year [2005]. Georgia watched as its population of...

Wonder how many more bent on terrorism have sneaked?

6 Men Arrested in a Terror Plot Against Fort Dix

"Kevin O’Brien, 36, who lives in the same community, said he had gone to bars twice with several of the men, who told him they were avid hunters. Mr. O’Brien said the men drank whiskey and beer and asked him about his stint in the Marines, trading stories of their own military training in the former Yugoslavia.

"The suspects include three ethnic Albanian brothers who entered the United States illegally, part of a family that has lived for years in Cherry Hill, N.J., where they attended public schools and relatives ran a roofing business and a pizzeria.

It appears the family has been here awhile, which is the "they" that attended school here. If the Duka brothers had military training in the former Yugoslavia, they didn't come here 12 years ago.

I am sure we would have already seen interviews with former high school classmates who would say that they were just normal guys, played on the basketball team, etc. None of that so far.

Very interesting. What I saw on the tube had them much darker although those appear to be the same drawings. They should be on their way to Gitmo not jail.

It’s ambiguous. They were probably (except for the youngest one) old enough to have had some paramilitary type training among their jihadi brethren in the Balkans, but it could also be that they tagged along and joined their family here later, as adults. I guess we’ll find out. Personally, I think this story will disappear, just like the Bosnian Muslim who killed all those people at the mall in NV a couple of months ago. These Balkan “refugees” were brought here by Clinton, and we all know that Bill can do no wrong.

Yeah right, they had to be smuggled in. That’s the ticket. How else could they get through such an impenetrable wall?

damn Mormon bastards!!!!!!

I see even you were fooled by those crafty Norwegian terrorists! They came in through Minnesota. Ole's place by the border. Dressed in band costumes. St. Olaf's Day. Piece of cake. Or Lutefisk.

You surely don't think the Albanians, our loyal, quaint and colorful allies as arranged by Madeleine 1/2bright, Tricky Dick Holecrook, and Slick Willy Sinkmeister, would pull anything as bad as this, do you?

I fear Albanians cooking pizza, or anything else, for that matter. Where is the Godfather when you need him?

These day, you don't have much of a choice. Even the places owned by Italians use Albanian managers and Mexican pizza makers.

As a matter of fact, many pizzerias in NY/NJ are now OWNED by Arabs or Albanians.

I fear that if this is true, it will REALLY hurt Pres Bush.

I wrote this on a related post but it's relevant here too:

As much as I like GWB, when the next major terrorism is found to be caused by illegal aliens and he’s had since 9/11 to crack down on the illegals and the borders, he will go down as one of the worst presidents in this country’s history IMO. He’s basically fiddling while Rome burns. Of course he’s not alone, the rest of today’s politicians, with the exception of a few, are doing the same.

I thought it was a mall in Utah. If any of these illegals came in under Bush, you would think that the Dems would try to make hay out of it, i.e., Bush is not protecting the Homeland. However, that would put their comprehensive immigration reform bill [read amnesty] at risk. So I agree the issue of how these illegals entered will not be reported by the MSM.

Thank God Joe DiMaggio didn't live to see this! Mayor Giuliani, Governor Florio, Governor Cuomo, Senator D'Amato, they let this happen?

I suppose the Church is of no help, what with a Pole, and now a German in charge? However, the best pizza I have had in a long time is from a joint in Sterling VA, Manhattan Pizza. The owner is an Israeli dude!

Seriously now, Mexicans just don't get Italian or French food. Sending lots of stuff back lately, Coq au Vin ain't supposed to taste like Saturday night in Tijuana, capisce? And those Iranian Italian joints in LA, fuggedaboutit.

And don't eat the melon in any Arab-owned joint, OK. Trust me.

It was Utah, sorry. Yes, the Dem silence on this has been conspicuous. Especially regarding their hero, who was responsible for loading up our country with these fake “refugees.” I don’t have time to look, but I think there were a couple of earlier attacks, although not quite as drastic as the mall attack, committed by “immigrants” that is, free-lance jihadis - from that part of the world.
