Zoe Lofgren, D-San Jose, said her constituents aren't as concerned about the details of legislation as with the fact that Congress is confronting Bush, who has argued that the Democratic plan to create a timeline for withdrawal would constitute a surrender to terrorism and would impinge on his powers as commander in chief.

I thought Petraus would be giving a progress update in September. By my calculation, that would require a minimum of 4 months funding. This is just another tactic to try and make sure the current effort doesn’t succeed. No matter how successful we are, they will claim it is a failure.
The Democrats are trying so hard to destroy the morale of our troops and increase the morale of our enemies. They do not care about national security, long-term geopolitics, or patriotism. They only care about the next election cycle.
Democrats only think about aquiring power by any means necessary so that they may ram socialism down our throats.

It sure is true. Funding 3 months late for two months. In July start again arguing for another 3 months for two months more of funding. Cleverly, they have only funded 2/3s of the emergency spending needed, dooming the operation.
