Six Arrested In Alleged Terror Plot Against N.J. Soldiers

NEW YORK -- Six men from New Jersey have been arrested in an alleged terror plot against soldiers at Fort Dix, according investigators.

Investigators said the men planned to use automatic weapons to enter Fort Dix and kill as many soldiers as they could at the N.J. base. Fort Dix was just one of several military and security locations allegedly scouted by this group, authorities said.

Investigators told Newschannel 4's Jonathan Dienst that these arrests are the result of a tip to the FBI and use of an informant to track the suspects. The terror suspects traveled over the last several months from New Jersey to the Poconos where they practiced firing automatic weapons, investigators said.

Investigators said the group discussed targeting numerous locations like Dover Air base, Fort Monmouth and several Coast Guard stations before deciding on Fort Dix as their intended target. Fort Dix is run in part by the Army and is a reserve-training center, but active units take part in training, including some which focuses on counter-terrorism.

It is not clear how far along the alleged terror plot was, or when investigators first learned about it. Investigators said the group of suspects have been discussing and planning for much of the last year. They allegedly pooled their savings to pay for the operation that investigators said targeted soldiers stationed here at home.

The six suspects arrested Monday night will face terror conspiracy charges. Three of the men are brothers, all believed to be islamic radicals. Authorities have told Newschannel 4 that some of the men were born in Albania and the former Yugoslavia. Investigators said most of the suspects have spent several years here in the U.S.

Some of the group's alleged planning was caught on video and audio tape, investigators said.

Spokesmen for U.S. Attorney Chris Christie and the FBI in New Jersey and Philadelphia could not be reached for a comment.

Hmmm....Albanian Muslims (finally mentioned in the last paragraph). Probably some of the Albanian criminals Clinton let enter the US after his Serbian atrocity. Wonder how many more are planning the next attack on US soil. Will an enterprising reporter ask Hillary what she will do with Bill’s Muslim infiltrators? Nah.

Charge them with treason!

Treason:

To avoid the abuses of the English law (including executions by Henry VIII of those who criticized his repeated marriages), treason was specifically defined in the United States Constitution, the only crime so defined. Article Three defines treason as levying war against the United States or "in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort," and requires the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act or a confession in open court for conviction. Congress has, at times, passed statutes creating treason-like offense with different names (such as sedition in the 1798 Alien and Sedition Acts, or espionage and sabotage in the 1917 Espionage Act) that do not require the testimony of two witnesses and have a much broader definition than Article Three treason. For example, some well-known spies have been convicted of espionage rather than treason.

The Constitution does not itself create the offense; it only restricts the definition. The crime is prohibited by legislation passed by Congress. Therefore the United States Code at 18 U.S.C. § 2381 states "whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States." The requirement of testimony of two witnesses was inherited from the British Treason Act 1695.

In the history of the United States there have been fewer than 40 federal prosecutions for treason and even fewer convictions

Before it was an American ally in war on terror, Albania was a strong base for Islamic terrorists that took part in Jihad along with the Kosovo Albanians.

"Islamic terrorist organizations managed to set up Albania's first cell of the Islamic Jihad, which was headed by Aiman Al-Zavahiri," writes a Tirana-based terror expert, Petrit Gugu whose analysis was published by the Albanian newspaper Gazeta Shqiptare. Al-Zawahiri is second in command of Al-Qaeda's world wide network.

"This cell was involved in providing forged documents for its members... recruiting new members" and Gugu writes that "facts of this kind go to prove that the activity of terrorist jihad organizations is present and well-organized in Albania, in complete harmony with its structures within the country."

However, once Washington offered financial help, Albania flip-flopped and became a "staunch" anti-terror ally of America. As a result of its token contribution of few soldiers to the Coalition of the Willing in Iraq, Albania, on an occasion, gets few million dollars pay-off from Washington.

Albania's long-term contribution potential to American friendship also is dim.

Sustained by drug cartels, the Albanian economy has attracted about $200 million in legitimate foreign investment and the only foreign investors who actively seek to "invest" in Albania come from the Islamic world from folks like al-Qadi, who was Osama bin Laden's financial point man for building a terrorist infrastructure in Albania, Kosovo and the region.

In its World Factbook, CIA says that half of Albania's GDP of $20.21 billion comes from a "large gray economy that may be as large as 50% of official GDP."

"Cannabis plants lay stacked up like Christmas trees," Scotsman describes Albania's drug farms. "Albanian hashish was prized by drugs users and sometimes even exchanged for heroin," explains Scotsman.

Albania is also the final destination for the Islamic terrorists that manage to slip through the Guantanamo detention. In the ultimate twist of irony, two terrorists, graduates of Gitmo, are camping in Albania, and have initiated, from there, a lawsuit against the former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Exactly....as soon as I heard about this plot on tv. this morning, I thought out loud...I’ll bet they’re Islamic terrorists, but I’ll bet the MSM will try their darnedest to keep that out of the headlines....no big surprise you have to dig down thru the articles to find that tidbit. After all,we really wouldn't’t want to rouse the sleeping(or brain dead) American public, would we?

A thought experiment. Suppose that members of a fictious club called “The Garden State Green Thumbs” had flown planes into buildings, plotted to blow up bridges, blown up trains in London and Madrid, trapped, torturured and murdered children in a school, sawed heads off on videotape.
Do you think that members of this fictious group should be subject to additional scrutiny? Do you think there should be additional profiling?
Change the group to “Montana Militia”. Would all members now be sitting in jail? How about “the Christian Crusaders”?
So why are all members of the group that is responsible not subject to additional scrutiny? Why are they given special privileges?
