You notice that none of the positive news out of Baghdad is being reported now and only being shown as bad news. No matter how much progress is made in the future the Stone Age Press will report it as losses. Same formula as Nam.

The DBM are also making a big deal out of the new Newsweak poll that shows Bush at 28% approval but haven't reported the Rasmussen poll that has him hovering right around 40%.  Note, by the way, that the link to the Newsweak poll is the Iranian state news agency trumpeting the story, right along with their allies and stooges in the DBM.

Rasmussen has an interesting piece on poll methodology that goes some way towards explaining the differences between polls, by the way.

I stick with my comment from last week, and with comments Rush made this week, the current use of polls by the media is to make news, not report it, and they'll pick and choose the polls and slant the questions and the samples to get the results they want.  The same thing they do with all of their reporting.

And Newsweak has a long history of manipulating their polls to drive their headlines. In Sept 2004, after the Republican Convention the mythical “Bush surge” was wholly the product of a manufactured “Newsweak” poll that simply polled 7% MORE Republicans then Democrats. Then after the 1st debate in Oct when they needed to change the store and report Bush tanking, they simply reversed the ratio of R vrs D. News media polls are junk. I think Real Clear Politics has the right idea. The way to analyze polling is to collect as many numbers as possible and average them. They are simply far too many ways for a pollster to game the data to trust any single poll as being an accurate snap shot of public opinion

The 28% number is really not believable. That would mean that even you and I don’t like GW. That number is so cooked it would make Enron proud.
