Thanks Dolly in my experience nowadays most patients I know come home or at least to their previous residental home. I know few have to go to more specialized care but that is normally due to additional health issues that become apparent during the hospital stay.
Personally I think dad’s walking is better than before the op so I think the hip was on the way out before and probably caused him to fall in the first place.
The big thing is getting his confidence again especially in the kitchen where he fell.
In his younger days I am sure that Prince Philip would have enjoyed at shoot with the VP.
Looks great. Thanks
That could very well be - my mother in law fell and broke her hip, but she corrected us by saying, no, my hip broke, and I fell.
The hip bones become very brittle. Her’s esp as she was diabetic for long years.
Off to see dad at hospital and spending weekend round my friends see you Monday evening
And .. I believe .. she speaks fluent Russian ..??
Thank you SO much for your explanation about the Queen’s duties. I had no idea that she was that involved in matters of “state”...good for her.
LOL about the hats.
I am afraid I would make a horrible queen also...because I don’t do hats.
for your well wishes, lovely flowers, cake, and songs! I had a nice evening out with friends, a homemade lemon cake, and lots of things -- such as your birthday wishes -- to make me feel loved. One of the nicest comments was from a friend who asked, "You're HOW OLD again?" I gave the answer and she said, shaking her head, "I just CAN'T get my mind around that." =)
That was very nice (and helpful to us) of you to repost snugs’ update on her father.
LOVE the photo of the dogs, Jonny! They look very contented.
I missed your birthday greeting until I started thumbing through the Dose (it was minus the “m” so it didn’t show on my pings). It’s a gorgeous greeting and I’m glad I did get to see it! Thank you.
Same to you, Carolinamom, as to mystery_ak — I didn’t see your greeting till today. Thank you, and belated happy birthday greetings to your daughter!
Here’s a link to my initial thanks.

The Queen really looks marvelous .. and 81, wow!
Any Dose tonight? Anyone ?
Did you bring enough lemon cake for all of us? ;-)
I imagine so ...
(((Prayers for you both)))
Thank you, Dolly :)
Thank you both very much :)
Morning, jonny! Am I right that there was no Dose last night?
