>How could he, he wasn’t asked many questions!<

I had several people in to watch the debate, so I may have missed one, but I counted only three questions directed to Duncan Hunter in 90 minutes, and Cistern Matthews skipped over him most of the time in the open questions. Romney received 2/3 of all questions, with McCain second, then Gilmore and Giuliani. Brownback did well, I thought. Duncan Hunter ahowed very well after the debate when questioned.

Unfortunately I tuned out before the “after” interviews.

Apparently he didn’t make much of an impression....

**
Well, it was pretty hard to make an impression when he was asked so few questions by Chrissy the Clown and the other leering buffoons. It wasn’t a debate; it was a farce.

"....Romney was also good but a little too slick to be easily trusted."

Like Shady, the used car salesman with the plastic smile?

Like I said - my question was off color - don’t hold it against me.

&&&
I am not a fan of McCain as a presidential possibility, but you are more than “off color” to mock the sacrifices that he made for his country. I hope that you will ask the admin moderator to remove your comments from the thread.

I’m voting Hunter in the primary. An Army Ranger is the real deal.

Hunter is great in these clips. I didn’t see the debate, but I’m very impressed. He knows his stuff, and he brings it to the point. Bravo.

**
Problem was, though, that in the actual program, which I hardly would call a debate, he was called on so seldom that his part was lost in the mix. When he did answer, he was great, but that buffoon Matthews did not give him much chance to show his stuff.

I thought he looked great, BTW — very presidential.

I was reading the transcript and was amazed that Chris hardly ever called on Hunter or Huckabee.

**
Oh, he called on them near the start, but I suspect he was hoping they would mess up. But they answered so well that he did not want to give them a chance to show their stuff.
Did you notice how useless and insulting many of the questions were?

God bless you! And thank you for your service.

During the little time he was given, I thought he looked very presidential.

I thought Hunter was excellent in substance. He’s just not a showman. Both are reasons I want him to be my next president.

Exactly. Duncan Hunter is a WORKhorse, not a SHOWhorse.

Let the skeptics and naysayers cackle like a gaggle of geese on crack, Hunter's stock is going up. If he were listed on Wall Street, I'd be issuing a 'BUY' advisory.

Yeah, you could almost read the sarcasm in the questions. .

Then there was this exchange which looked like Matthews was trying to cause trouble

MR. MATTHEWS: Thank you, Governor.
Governor Huckabee, you've criticized Governor Romney for saying his faith wouldn't get in the way of his public life, his governing. Do you want to back that up tonight?
MR. HUCKABEE: I've never criticized Governor Romney for that.
MR. ROMNEY: Thank you! (Laughs.)
MR. HUCKABEE: I've said in general, and I would say this tonight to any of us, when a person says my faith doesn't affect my decision- making, I would say that the person's saying their faith is not significant enough to impact their decision process. I tell people up front my faith does affect my decision process. It explains me. No apology for that. My faith says, "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you."
MR. MATTHEWS: But you answered a question that George Stephanopoulos of ABC -- about this governor, one of your rivals -- and you answered it in this way. "I'm not as troubled by a person who has a different faith. I'm troubled by a person who tells me their faith doesn't influence their decisions." That's in direct response to George Stephanopoulos on February 11th of this year. Why are you changing that point of view now?
GOV. HUCKABEE: Well, I didn't know I was changing the point of view.
MR. MATTHEWS: No, you're changing your quote.
GOV. HUCKABEE: I'm saying that of anyone, whether it's Governor Romney or Governor Gilmore --
MR. MATTHEWS: But you answered in direct response to the -- Governor Romney and his Mormonism. Why are you pulling back now?
GOV. HUCKABEE: I don't mean to be puling back. I want to state very clearly: a person's faith shouldn't qualify or disqualify for public office. It shouldn't do that. But we ought to be honest and open about it. And I think it does help explain who we are, what our value systems are, what makes us tick and what our processors are.
MR. MATTHEWS: Okay.

I didn't see where he was changing his quote. Or did I miss something?

Knowing Hunter to be quite Conservative, I was surprised to find he didn't raise his hand to the question "Raise your hands if you don't believe in Evolution."

The only 3 candidates that do not believe in evolution are Brownback, Tancredo, and Huckabee. Watch the video yourself.

I don't know what MCS means, but pinging someone into a thread that you know they won't be interested in is a form of stalking. You might want to discuss this with your sponsor or your mental health professional.

Lighten up Francis.

Fair point. Let's ping Sam Hunter in on this. I believe it is a loaded question anyway, but we can get a more direct answer from DH and his campaign.

I have heard on the web an audio clip of his belief is Divine Creationism FWIW. I'll try to dig it up...

Chrissy Matthews needs to be b*tchslapped in a most deliberate, serious and powerful way.

Many times, back and forth, until his tongue is wobbling like the Tasmanian dust devil.

A total clod.

I’ll see if there was anything else about this. Show-of-hands situations can be bare knuckle moments for politicians since they can’t articulate.

Because Rep. Hunter is a Christian, I believe he did not hear, or could not believe, the question. I didn’t hear it myself.

I agree with you. There were things I liked about last night, and unlike my fellow freepers, I tend to like Chris Matthews. I liked the energy of last night and how quickly it moved along. But I thought too many of the questions were just mean-spirited and Chris did not call on them equally. He was a disappointment. But my fellow Republicans weren’t! I was very proud to be a Republican last night. We have some impressive men running for president. The only person I thought did extremely poorly was Thompson. I’m not a Romney supporter, but he did shine. But it was Hunter who showed who would be the best President of the United States.
