Obama truly is a "magic Negro" in name and in the minds of many whites. He's a warm and fuzzy, a practically made-in-heaven black man who makes no uncomfortable racial demands. Limbaugh got that right......
Rush Limbaugh figured out the perfect angle to get the tongues wagging about him. He played the Barack Obama card and dredged up the canned lyrics that he had an Al Sharpton impersonator croon on his show that mocked Obama as "the magic Negro." That was the tag that writer David Ehrenstein slapped on Obama in a Los Angeles Times opinion editorial that published March 19. Limbaugh got the predictable howls and screams for his racial prank, and the demand that he get the ax like talk-radio host Don Imus. Limbaugh's "magic Negro" croon is crass, tasteless and race tinged, but it's accurate.
Obama strokes, soothes and comforts white liberals. He's the ideal nonthreatening black man, the near mythic figure, that in the old days of slavery and later segregation, many fearful whites took solace in and even branded as a good Negro. Obama can't be blamed for being, at least for the moment, a fantasy candidate for white liberals. Yet, he is.
The first tip that Obama serves as a security blanket for many whites was the speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. The speech launched him onto the national stage. He was a black man who whites, at least rhetorically, swooned over. The crowds got larger, and whiter.

Rush merely pointed it out and Al Shanklin made a parody of it.
But let's pretend that Rush started it so we can call him a bigot and ignore the real culprit.
Obama kind of like a liberal scapegoat in reverse.

This may be obvious to you all on the forum, but . . . calling Omama “The Magic Negro” is adopting a term from the anti-Semitic propaganda, namely, “The Magic Jew,” that is, the Jew who is at the same time cleverer than anyone else, more devious than anyone else, yet crueler and more vile. Anti-Semites going back over 100 years employed this catch-all term so as to make Jews worthy of hate and violence, because they were responsible for everything. Those Joooooooos did it.

It was a helluva speech. I saw it, and noted the next day that Obama would figure prominently in the 2008 Presidential race...and was flamed by one and all on another site.

Hey, I despise everything that Barack Hussein Obama stands for, make no mistake about that - but my concern about Rush and Paul Shanklin’s ‘Magic Negro’ routine is that it may create sympathy for Obama, and if Obama is half as crafty as some think he is, he could parlay his own indignation into some real momentum as a result.
It doesn’t matter to me who first slapped the ‘Magic Negro’ label on Obama, but it is better to beat Obama’s ideas with good conservative philosophy, than to give him an opening to play that victim card which liberals love so much.

My point was that Tiger is a black man (say calabrasian, if you so desire but what do you see) who is as not a racially threatening individual as there is.

Obama is, in short, Black while not truly being Black, just like Halle Berry is praised as a great Black actress, while she is also a Mulatto.
It seems that Liberals like Mulattos, while distancing themselves from true African-Americans. Isn't that Racism?
