Ex-Senator Injured in Chicago Mugging

CHICAGO (AP) - Former U.S. senator and presidential candidate Carol Moseley Braun suffered a broken wrist when a mugger tried to steal her purse, authorities said Saturday.
Braun, 59, was standing at her front door late Friday when an assailant came out of the bushes and tried to take her purse, said her spokesman, Kevin Lampe. When Braun resisted, the man pulled a knife and cut the strap of the purse.
During the struggle, Braun fell, fracturing her left wrist. She was later treated and a released from a hospital.
A student from the nearby University of Chicago came to her aid, Lampe said.
Zachary Trayes-Gibson said he had been walking with a friend when he heard screams.

A man wearing dark clothing tried to steal her purse, and in the ensuing struggle she apparently fell to the ground and broke her left wrist. She was taken to Northwestern University Hospital, where she was treated and released.

I remember when this ding dong was in the Senate. The evil Republicans were wanting to reform welfare by making welfare recipients to work. Braun alleged that making them work was demeaning.
It's the best reason I can think of for concealed carry....I pitty the fool who tries this with my wife. She shoots better than I do.

She must have been pretty upset at that. I heard he made off with the remainder of the illegal campaign money from her Presidential bid.
