Absolutely. The woman is a lame brain but she does not deserve this. Her purse and contents belonged to her, not the thief. I hope he is caught and prosecuted.

To the matter at hand. I remember a courtly Republican politician referring to Carol Mosely-Braun. "I will yield to the gentle and gracious lady". No, he was not being sarcastic.
I will follow his example. We can "knock em' down and drag em' out" in politics. Carol is a big girl. In this matter, I hope they catch this abominable coward. She did not deserve this, no matter how unpleasant her views. Kudos to the person who intervened. What if he was a Republican? LOL

Wasn’t there also a scandal involving an African national she was dating that was involved in bloody tribal politics back home? Something like a former war criminal, cleaned up and acting as a DC lobbyist, tied in with one of those drugged child/cannibal armies? And massive unpaid phone bills from calling back to Africa? I think she tried to pull a string or two for him.
I know, it sounds like one of those black helicopter conspiracy nut stories, but was the Clintoon years. After Ms. Mosley-Braun lost her reelection campaign Old BJ shipped her off to be ambassador to some little country that had never done us any harm, Luxembourg or new Zealand or something, got her out of the papers and pumped up her resume. Now the lickspittles in the media can call her Madame Ambassador whenever she gets a headline in the “local” section.
