GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP A Municipal Court judge will review a complaint that a citizen filed against Gov. Jon S. Corzine for not wearing a seat belt when he was injured in an April 12 crash on the Garden State Parkway, the court administrator said Thursday. Larry Angel, of Mullica Township, long known for attending public meetings and being a gadfly to local officials, filed the complaint against the governor earlier this week in Municipal Court. The crash occurred on a section of the parkway in Galloway Township

One to Corzine and one to the trooper driving him for speeding.
Since the trip was not an emergency, there should be, iirc, tickets for speeding, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and illegal use of emergency flashers.
I know the guy who filed the complaint. Very intelligent, I disagree with him on quite a few issues but I will say one thing for him. He says what’s on his mind.
Not being tacky, just tired of those who demand I follow the law while excusing themselves.
It matters not. He belongs in the FReeper Hall of Fame.
great
"Angel said Thursday evening that he has no vendetta against the governor. He voted for Corzine for both U.S. Senate and for governor, and would vote for him again.
But he decided to file the seat-belt complaint because the 30-day time limit for issuing the summons is ticking away.
It just seemed to me that the perception in the street was the governor was being treated differently than you or I would be in the same situation, Angel said. The ideal is justice is blind and doesn't peek to see how big your wallet is.
I think he is more of a KOS kind of guy.
Regardless, he is correct on this issue.
Remember, it was the Paula Jones lawsuit that revealed the Monica Lewinsky business.
I’m just sayin’, that if, just supposin’, the Governor was not unbelted in the front seat, but was rather unbelted in the rear seat, for instance, then getting sworn statements from everybody involved could become very interesting, indeed.
Then it's a Win/Win!
So it costs Corzine 50 bucks or whatever the fine is in new Jersey. Big deal . He should get the ticket though ,I am sure they would give me one.
First thing they ask when you are involved in an accident. “ Were you wearing a seat belt?”
What fool would say no?
However in Corzines case its pretty obvious.
And yet this does slew the statictics. Every time someone says Yes: they were wearing a seat belt, when in fact they werent, it goes in the book as a person who was not injured because he had one on.
BTW, what’s an “omy”?
LOL
I think everyone should be able to drive their car without a fastened seat belt if they have a suicide wish and complete medical coverage that they pay for themselves.
I also think driving a car without wearing a seat belt is insane.
My dad installed seat belts in our old Mercury back in 1956. Then you had to drill a hole in the floor pan and bolt the seat belts to the floor. A lot of work. He was ahead of the times. I’ve been using them ever since.
Why wasn’t he arrested already? Could it be that rich democrats who bought their way into public office are held to a different standard than Republicans?
He’s the Governor. The police work for him. The only way he would be ticketed is if he insisted on being ticketed. Corzine has not done so. Draw whatever conclusions you want from that.
The beneficial thing about this action is that it may bring the whole police investigation into this incident into public view. This would be a very good thing. Because if the Troopers run an internal investigation, there will always be the presumption that it is a self-serving cover-up, no matter what the result.
How much would Clinton have had to pay Paula Jones to make her go away? It looks like Corzine might be throwing away his Governorship over far less.
A big fat YES to your question. Let’s not forget where he was going. He was just being a busy body sticking his nose where it did not belong.
He should be charged with reckless endangerment.
