Should a private enterprise be allowed to charge whatever they want? Should a private enterprise be allowed to pay whatever they want? Should an individual be allowed to work at whatever wage they are willing to accept?

What planet are you from? The answers are No, No and No. We've worked hard for years to make sure that individuals can't make private agreements. We still have a way to go, and unfortunately, we're getting there.

If you two haven't already seen this, hold your hats:
First high school in Northwest geared to Muslim students to open
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Mounting pressures from Muslim parents in the region have prompted the Muslim Educational Trust to open the new coeducational Oregon Islamic Academy - the first high school in the Northwest geared to Muslim students.
...
The academy's mission is "to shape the minds and hearts of its students according to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the traditions of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)," the parenthetical phrase an abbreviation for "Praise Piss Be Unto Him."

Because you probably think the implication is that you can’t take of yourself?

This seems almost anachronistic to me. What year is it, 1968?

“If you were with a group of hungry guys, would you want to go to a place...”

...that might be overloaded with female customers? Hmmm. I just might.

“Aside from the fact that this is a pretty good publicity stunt, this story shows the economics illiteracy that runs rampant.”

It’s only for one day, isn’t any different from ‘unaccompanied women get in free,’ and is no more offensive than senior citizen discounts.

Equal pay for equal performance is much more the case in the US than they think, though. Women make less on average due to lifestyle choices and refusing to dedicate their lives to their jobs the way many men do.

"Restaurants to drop prices for women to reflect wage disparity"

Will they be serving smaller portions too due to women's higher rates of obesity?

Wasn't there some study floating around regarding work-related deaths, and that men were 93% of them?

HOw will they "reflect" that little inconvenient statistic?

By giving 93% of their female customers a free case of E-coli?

Thanks to government schools with union oversight, we have idiots reproducing everywhere.

365 days * 23% = 89.5 days, or March 30.

What do we have, a meeting of the Procrastinators club?

Or is this article a month old?

"Bosses figure they'll pay you less because you'll take less. Then people get mad at them because they will work for less."

That isn't a female-centric phenomenon - it applies to anyone who comes across as a passive pushover in salary negotiations. The government can't be in the business of indemnifying people against the consequences of their personality flaws. ;)

Exactly. I make a hell of a lot more than most people period, including most men.

But shhhhh ... don’t tell them that in Oregon! I do like a bargain :)

There! Fixed it!

On AVERAGE, women eat 27% less than men, so for the sake of “equality”, will they force feed the women 27% more food also?

The differential is Married woman dropping out and Raising a Family! That skews the numbers. That also means the Pool of Potential CEO’s is less

I never figured out why a Woman tennis Player get the Same prize purse as men when Men have to work 30-405 longer to get the same Prize.

I guess if you look at the WNBA and other woman sports men subsidize the sport From their league Moneys and Because More men watch them than woman. Golf and Tennis especially!

I’ve never been able to figure it out as Oregon folks are nice folks. Maybe “Duck” humor is too subtle for me? They just keep sending them.
