Without acknowledging his comments yesterday when he said the "war is lost," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said President Bush and his allies "attacked those of us with courage to ask the tough questions and tell the truth about Iraq." He described their criticism of him and other Democrats as "an effort to shift attention from this Administration's failed policies" in Iraq.
In a remarks on the Senate floor after Bush's speech today, Reid did not repeat the "war is lost" comments. Instead, he said that "the longer we continue down the president's path the further we will be from responsibly ending this war." He repeated the sentiment two additional times in the speech and added, "but there is still a chance to change course and we must change course."

The only tough question that needs to be asked is when to file charges of treason.
Was he eating cheese at the time?
I didn’t realize Harry Reid was French.
Surrender, Surrender, Surrender!
Beyond description. Beyond words and belief. The President >must< do something about this.
The President, Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Republican Party must be pit bulls and not let go of this major statement made by Reid.
If the Republicans let this go, then they might as well put their heads between their legs and kiss their fannies good bye.
Up to the Senate.
Someone should introduce the measure,
We need to put pressure on the Senate Republicans. This is utter BS.
Ruck Feid!
At the least he needs to be forced to resign his majority leadership of the Senate.
WW-II had Tokyo Rose. We get Baghdad Harry.
Why is it these a$$clowns who denigrate America always cite their own “courage”? The only ones with courage are those fighting the GWOT—certainly not those sniping from the sidelines.
What an absolutely childish little baby Senator Reid is. Sen Reid is acting like a child who was caught misbehaving...he is shifting the blame to everybody but himself. It is very sad that we not only elect immature people like him, but that we allow him to sit in a position of power. Nevada ought to be ashamed.
I predicted on today's live thread that Reid probably thinks he's "being brave." Looks like I was right.
What an idiot.
And did our spineless GOP even have the guts to boo him while he ranted?
It is Harry Reid that is hard headed. He has had his head up where the sunshine don’t shine so long that he has constipated himself.
His mail box has been full today. Keeps those calls coming. He needs to hear what the American people think of him and his Liberal human debris associates.
“when to file charges of treason”
I was just thinking the same thing. First, pelosi and her “official” visit to the mideast spouting off as if she were in charge and now reid. When is the Pres. going to wake up to the fact that he does indeed have a shadow government trying to usurp this nation and that those parties are treasonous?
At the very least. Trent Lott did nothing even remotely close to this. This is either Treason or on the line. I called Reid’s office and said he was a Traitor and gave my full name an phone # and dared him to return my call. Then I repeated myself. I won’t hear a word back.
