Many adults in the United States long for the mandate of a previous head of state, according to a poll by Opinion Research Corporation released by CNN. 53 per cent of respondents miss former U.S. president Bill Clinton now that he has left the White House.
In the survey, 96 per cent of African-American respondents say they miss Clinton, while 50 per cent of White Americans say they are glad he has left.
Clintona Democrat and former governor of Arkansaswon the 1992 U.S. presidential election. His campaign was largely based on a condemnation of the economic recession of the early 1990s. In 1996, Clinton became the first Democrat to serve two terms as president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt, winning 49.2 per cent of all cast ballots and 379 electoral votes. Clintons last term in office was tarnished by his admission of an extra-marital affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
During his presidency, Clinton called the racial divide in the U.S. "Americas constant curse." In July 2001, Clinton decided to move into a new office in Harlem, a largely African-American neighbourhood in New York City. The president said on his first day at the office he would make Harlem his home, and explained: "What Im going to do here is to try to help promote economic opportunity in our back yard, in our country and around the world."
In January, former first lady and current New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton officially launched her bid for the Democratic Partys nomination in the 2008 presidential election.

> Many “Americans” are little more than mindless, brainwashed sheep.
...with a vote. And they will vote for HillBilly, on current form. Beware.
I don’t miss the farting pig one little bit.
Great insight.
A true statement!
Unfortuantely, the mindless voting Americans are a danger to the survival of this republic.
Yes!!
“How can I miss you if you never go away?”
What's that saying about preferring 'the devil they know...'?
Clintons last term in office was tarnished by his admission of an extra-marital affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
Are they kidding? Like that was the only thing we found fault and shady legalities with? Never mind Whitewater and Web and the Richs and the failed 'global diplomacies', some of which started unraveling during his terms, and that's for starters. Never mind the dead bodies piling up mysteriously in his wake.
This article seems like nothing more than a 'subtle' push for Hillary. 'Lonesome for Bill? (sure you are!!) We've got another Clinton for you...'
And lots of Germans miss Adolf Hitler as well.
And lots of Iraqis miss Saddam Hussein as well.
Yes, far too many of them! And the sheeple will read this and believe it must mean them and associate Clinton with no war, believe they miss him. Push for Hil.
Worth repeating.
Very good point! I think the media can have a strong impact on the national psyche.
I try to watch the news to stay informed, but from time to time I just have to take a break from it.
Even the most optimistic person cannot listen to the constant flow of negativity without being affected.
Only the “stupid” Americans miss that jerk.
There. Fixed it. Every time a liber pulls the old "It was just about sex. Republicans are soooo Puritanical." BS, it is important to bring the conversation back to reality. Clinton was impeached for PERJURY, not for getting a Oval Office blowjob from a skank.
Thanks. You know, I used to think we just had 535 members of Congress trying to be President but I guess I should add the thousands of news outlets in this country to that number as well.
I believe the media in this country has demonstrated that it has and uses the power to make and break presidents, regardless of what the facts actually present. Were I a “mainstream journalist” I would feel ashamed of my peers and my profession.
and many Germans miss Hitler...
the GOP just needs to find a conservative with a set and expose the ‘Rats for what they are.
“Liberalism is just Communism sold by the drink.”
P.J.O’Rourke
I miss Clinton (like I miss getting a colonoscopy).
Ain’t that the truth?
Wrong, bj's last term in office was tarnished by perjury and the subsequent impeachment.
