You recently visited with wounded troops at Walter Reed. What were your impressions? I was deeply impressed by them. Most I spoke to were young people, around 20 years old. And they were really very eloquent, very positive, very respectful. You have to be proud of the children we're turning out from looking at this group of people. For me, I would much rather hear from these guys than the people who are presenting the news on television on a daily basis.
Were you able to gauge the mood among the troopshave they lost a sense of mission?
These guys say, well, it's possible to win it. And I'll tell you one thing they said that was very remarkable: the increase in troops that has been recommended by the president, they say anybody who's over there knows the value of backup and we should be behind this. When you're out in that situation in danger, you want to know you've got backup. Only one guy said he wasn't going back to Iraq, and he had been wounded a couple times. But all the other guys wanted to go back. One young woman, a very attractive young woman, had her leg amputated. But she says she's going to find a way to get back into it. She just reupped and she said they would find something for her to do.
Do you think it's possible to win the Iraq War?
Here's what I think: this is a real war, extended beyond the borders of Iraq.

Thanks for the post. I heard Voight interviewed on the radio last Saturday morning and was shocked at finding out he has some conservativism in him. And that he fully supports the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan and understands that the Iraq campaign can not be separated from the Bin Laden and his fellow radical Moslems attact on the US and western society.
Wow! Good for the father of Brangellina.
I was surprised also... considering who his daughter is!
LLS
They are estranged, although I’m not sure why. She hates him from what I read, though. He can’t be all bad, then, right?
Now we know why.
I was under the impression she's mad at him for going public with his disapproval of her lifestyle.
She’s one of those spoiled little bitches who “hates” her father because, God forbid, he use common sense and object to her being a total freakazoid whore.
Just my observation, anyway.
That stands him far away from his daughter, the UN Ambassador at large.
Nice to know.
I bought a car owned by him!
Check the teeth marks!!!
Everybody's talkin' 'bout me
I don't hear a word they're sayin'
Just drivin' 'round in Jon Voigt's car
he also supports Israel
I’m in shock right now.
I’m sure it has nothing to do with him being a womanizing a-hole who left her mother when Angelina was just a baby. Oh and for spilling the beans to the whole world that she had adopted Maddox before it was even finalized.
But hey, she’s a liberal, so it must be her fault.
LOL
10 posts to get to the inevitable Seinfeld reference. Not bad!
bttt
He play John Paul II on the tv movie. Did a great job of it too !
Goodness, spit your vitriol in some other direction. I'm just repeating what I heard on one of those "insider" Hollywood shows.
