They are estranged, although I’m not sure why. She hates him from what I read, though. He can’t be all bad, then, right?
Now we know why.
I was under the impression she's mad at him for going public with his disapproval of her lifestyle.
She’s one of those spoiled little bitches who “hates” her father because, God forbid, he use common sense and object to her being a total freakazoid whore.
Just my observation, anyway.
I’m sure it has nothing to do with him being a womanizing a-hole who left her mother when Angelina was just a baby. Oh and for spilling the beans to the whole world that she had adopted Maddox before it was even finalized.
But hey, she’s a liberal, so it must be her fault.
IIRC he expressed concern during an interview about her behavior when she was married to Billy Bob Thornton. According to Voight they were “cutting” themselves and he was worried about her and thought she needed help.
The following is from a fan site. I think her father is right she needs help and remember this woman is raising children. Lord help them.
At 14, she had her first boyfriend move in with her at her mother’s house. She began body-cutting in order to “feel something emotionally” but felt that she had herself together by the time she was 16. It was then that she seriously committed herself to her career, getting her own apartment and beginning to study acting in earnest. Jolie appeared in several music videos and won her first film lead in “Hackers,” a 1995 cyberthriller. Even then, some six years before her first Golden Globe, she was no stranger to awards shows. Jane magazine recently devoted a full page to a picture of Angelina at eleven or twelve, all mouth and eyes and Eighties hair, decked out in pearls and white lace, accompanying her father to the Oscars. “I’m surprised I went to another one of those things after that,” she says, looking at the picture.
Jolie collects knives and has talked freely about using them in sex play. In 1996, she married actor Jonny Lee Miller, age 24, (best known for his role as Sick Boy in Trainspotting) wearing a silk blouse decorated with his name written in her blood and tattooed on her arm. Both young and involved in different projects, they soon separated amiably. Her junkets with heroin were apparently during the 1998 HBO flic, “Gia,” about a doomed, drug-addicted bisexual supermodel. In 1999 she continued roles with psychotic overtones, “The Bone Collector,” “Pushing Tin” and “Sixty Seconds.”
In June 2000, she married Billy Bob Thornton, four times divorced and 19 years older, a union that was still sizzling a year later.
“I’m obsessed with Billy. I always want more. I can’t have enough of him.” She also continued her obsession with blood and tattoos, wearing an amulet with Billy Bob’s blood around her neck and his name tatooed on her arm.
