HILLARY CLINTON'S STATEMENT ON SUPREME COURT DECISION

HILLARY CLINTON ON SCOTUS DECISION:

4/18/2007

From the Senate: Statement on Supreme Court's Gonzales v. Carhart Decision Washington, DC -- "This decision marks a dramatic departure from four decades of Supreme Court rulings that upheld a woman's right to choose and recognized the importance of women's health. Today's decision blatantly defies the Court's recent decision in 2000 striking down a state partial-birth abortion law because of its failure to provide an exception for the health of the mother. As the Supreme Court recognized in Roe v. Wade in 1973, this issue is complex and highly personal; the rights and lives of women must be taken into account. It is precisely this erosion of our constitutional rights that I warned against when I opposed the nominations of Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito."

80% of the American people oppose Partial Birth Abortion. Hillary takes her money from NARAL and Emily's List and still calls abortion "a woman's right to choose" Hillary is on the wrong side of every issue, especially this one.

Hubby Bill did not sign the pb bill when he was President.

Maybe Hill needs to throw a few more ashtrays in his direction.

Uh, Hillary? The Supreme Court did not recognize anything with Roe v. Wade, they made it all up from whole cloth.

Abortion is not about saving women’s lives!

Studies Find Abortions Have Long-Term Effects

45,951,133

Total Abortions since 1973

------------------------------------------------------------

Why the drop after 1960? (in deaths of women from illegal abortions)

The reasons were new and better antibiotics, better surgery and the establishment of intensive care units in hospitals. This was in the face of a rising population. Between 1967 and 1970 sixteen states legalized abortion. In most it was limited, only for rape, incest and severe fetal handicap (life of mother was legal in all states). There were two big exceptions — California in 1967, and New York in 1970 allowed abortion on demand. Now look at the chart carefully.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Abortion Statistics - Decision to Have an Abortion (U.S.)

· 25.5% of women deciding to have an abortion want to postpone childbearing

· 21.3% of women cannot afford a baby

· 14.1% of women have a relationship issue or their partner does not want a child

· 12.2% of women are too young (their parents or others object to the pregnancy)

· 10.8% of women feel a child will disrupt their education or career

· 7.9% of women want no (more) children

· 3.3% of women have an abortion due to a risk to fetal health

2.8% of women have an abortion due to a risk to maternal health

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So how many women’s lives have been saved by abortion?

Only about 3% of abortions since 1972 were reported to be “due to a risk to maternal health.” A reasonable person would recognize that not all of those cases represent a lethal risk. But let’s say they did. That means that nearly 45 million fetuses were butchered to save the lives of about 1.3 million women. Or put another way; 35 babies are killed to save each woman.

Abortion was legal in all 50 states prior to Roe v. Wade in cases of danger to the life of the woman.

Registered ob/gyns testified under oath to Congressional committees that this particular heinous method of aborting a baby was not ever required to save the life of a pregnant woman. Common sense should so inform any sentient person, inasmuch as the child victim has already been brought almost entirely through and out of the birth canal before the final lethal act is executed.

"This decision marks a dramatic departure from four decades of Supreme Court rulings that upheld a woman's right to choose and recognized..."

A womam's right to choooose what Hillary? The NOW gang and the anti-human, anti-life pro-abort crowd never say what it is a woman is choosing. They won't do it in public. Why is that? They won't even formulate the choose sentence in proper English syntax.

Hillary is repaying a political debt to the femi-nazis who back her presidential candidacy.

Hillary officially becomes an abortion extremist. Doesn’t Obama also support a “right” Birth-Canal Butchery?
