They have left the tube in and the stomach is much reduced so fingers crossed that tomorrow they will remove and continue with physio.
They have special contraption that enables dad to pull himself up with 2 nurses steadying him to put him in and out of bed, so he gets the experience of bearing some weight on the leg/hip. This will continue tomorrow along with further exercises to build up muscles loss through laying in bed so long. Once again I thank you all for your prayers and thoughts for dad he and I very much appreciates it and know that it helps so much in his recovery.
I think he appetite is steadily improving he asked me to make a cake for him and take in tomorrow, I made a cherry and walnut one.

A very dear friend of my daughter is a faculty member at VT. We were frantic yesterday!
Wonderful photos
You are most welcome.
Exactly
I am very pleased with it myself :o)
Seriously though it is another photo that sums up a very emotional day.
“We were frantic yesterday!”
I can only imagine.
My son called me on his way to work to see if “I’d heard” about the shootings. I think, bless his heart, he was calling as much for reassurance as he was to see if I’d heard.
I just happen to be on FR at the time and could fill him in on the updated details at the time.
That cake looks yummy!
Was thinking the same thing about how beautiful, warm and real this marriage is. God bless them both. They have been through so much in Dubya’s two terms. Their faith in God, strong love for each other and family has seen and will ALWAYS see them through. They are the best.

Thanks - must wrap cake up now and put into tin to take up with me.
Back in a jiffy
I hope they all melt into the pavement. Pray for globull warming to hit Crawford in August...BIG TIME!
Yum...your Dad is going to love that cake.
I understand how difficult it is to see them go off to college. This will only intensify those feelings. Will he be attending somewhere close to home?
They are the best.
Oh my. Just too sad for words.
I can't imagine how else he would hold up with all the pressure and pain of his job if he didn't have Laura.
