THIS is the face of the girl who may have sparked the worst school shooting in US history.
Eighteen-year-old Emily Jane Hilscher was one of the first two victims to be identified in the Virginia Tech massacre, along with 22-year-old Ryan Clark.
The pair were neighbours in rooms 4040 and 4042 on the fourth floor of the West Ambler Johnston Hall dormitory where a gunman began the first of 33 campus shootings on Monday morning just after 7am, US time.

It is shame we live in a age where the media never reports the facts, they report just their own bias as fact. It will never be the crud that used the weapon that will be blamed. It will be the weapon and anyone who owns one or even supports the 2nd Amendment that will be the villain.
This is a too, too sad fact of life now days. And I have found my stomach get less upset if I just keep away from the media. Even FNC is not free of this madness...
So, I am watching Rachel and the Stranger, an old Bill Holden/Loretta Young/Bob Mitchum film from 1948. Perhaps that is more my speed as I was born only a year before it was made.
And the 1950s era suits me as much more livable than the culture of today that allows such liberal stupidity to not only linger around, but prosper and become the majority rant of the national news media!

Based on her facebook page, she may have been playing the field, who knows, hopefully that will become known. She may have been indeed attracted to an older, “complex” man which Cho would have been to her. Plus he could buy alcohol without a fake ID. We don’t know if he, her or the “new” BF were or were not part of the campus radical culture. Love triangle? As an English major (BTW - what was HER major?) exposed to tons of Ward Churchillesque sedition. No doubt at Va Tech there are Islamist and Islamist oriented groups. What an evil brew. Etc, etc, etc.
It appears that it's an ego thing. It also happens even more rarely where commonfolk are armed.

One of her friends said on a blog tribute that she was "nice to the dorky eighth graders" indicating, that she had a good heart. She loved animals too.
I’m picking up certain details in this report that I didn’t exactly hear elsewhere. Like...
“Witnesses to the shooting said that the gunman was involved in an argument with a girlfriend and had later stormed out of the dormitory building.
A counsellor – believed to be Mr Clark, who was also a resident adviser – was called to calm the situation at the dormitory.
The gunman returned at 7.15am and shot Ms Hilscher and Mr Clark. US media reported that Mr Clark had been shot in the neck.”
To me, that means that there was an argument at an earlier time, and then the shooter left (before shooting anyone). Then he returned at 7:15 am and shot the girl he had been arguing with earlier.
As far as the sequence of events for the first two shootings, another student reported this...
Virginia Tech student Chen Chia-hao told Taiwan cable TV about the first shootings.
“They had a big quarrel in the West Ambler Johnston Hall and he shot her. Then the RA (dormitory supervisor) came, and he shot the RA,” Mr Chen said.
Apparently the “neighbor” who was also the RA had been there “earlier” to quell the argument. And then the shooter returned to shoot the girl. The neighbor (and RA) came out of the room and went over there (probably hearing a big commotion) and he got shot.
The article says — “ The pair were neighbours in rooms 4040 and 4042 on the fourth floor of the West Ambler Johnston Hall dormitory...”
That adds a tiny bit of detail — if one can trust the reporting to be accurate.

Well, you can either *invent* details out of nothing — or — you can take the “news reports” and the eyewitness testimony.
Note that eyewitness testimony says on *two different occasions* that the RA — was (1) called to quell the argument, and then (2) the RA came out of his room and was shot.
So, either make up your own facts — or — take the eyewitness testimony...

OR ELSE — he was an Al Qaida agent, carefully “crafting” a cover story, acting as if he had an argument with the girl and shot her and the RA as a diversion, so that he could act out his Al Qaida handler’s orders and massacre students on a university campus.

Well, if you are arguing with a girl that you don’t know and have no association with, have never interacted with before — then you’re a nutball right off the bat.
Look at it again — once more. You don’t get into arguments with girls at their dormitory, going up to see them, have a RA called to quell the dispute — if you’re not *connected* in some fashion to the girl. That part is very obvious.
Okay, don’t get it yet??! Let’s try it this way. Some strange guy comes up to a girl in her dormitory and start talking and arguing with her. She says, “What are you talking about? I don’t know you! Go talk with someone you know. Get lost!”
Then an RA is called because the guy *does not belong there* as he has no association with the girl. He’s told to get lost. The RA is not there to mediate an argument. He’s there to tell the guy to get lost and get out of the building *immediately* because this girl doesn’t know him and doesn’t want anything to do with him.
On the other hand, if they *are* associated with one another, then the girl doesn’t say, “I don’t know you. Get lost!”. She’s then trying to “dialogue” — albeit, it’s turning into a loud argument. THEN, an RA *is* called to “mediate” and doesn’t tell the guy to get lost and get out of the building because you don’t belong here. He tries to calm it down, saying sleep on it, or come back later or meet somewhere tomorrow or whatever it takes to bring it down a few notches.
So, by the *reports* of how the other students saw this and how it was reported — she *was related* to him in some fashion — or he would *never* have had the opportunity to be there in the first place or be engaged in *any* type of conversation with her in her dorm room.
*By circumstance* and how it’s been reported, the girl knew him and was related in some fashion.

P.S. — If this was an unrelated person, to this girl, the students themselves would be the first to say that she didn’t know him and he was a stranger that came out of nowhere and harassed her. You’re not hearing that...

You can see from my previous post that it has not been reported in such a way that he would have been a stranger, stalking her and she was just some random girl he decided to go up and shoot.
You can see from the article that it was reported that they had an argument and that the RA was called upon to “mediate” it. You don’t mediate with a stalker or a stranger. That’s only done with people who are *connected*.

Thanks for your comprehensive explanation. When I posted the question, it had not been announced that the ballistic evidence definitively linked the killings at the two locations on campus. Also, there were no published reports at all that I was aware of that indicated Cho was actually the guy who was harassing her.

No, not according to the article, if you read the details. They had an argument. An RA was “called” to mediate. He wasn’t there. He had to be called and he came there and he mediated. The guy left.
Later the guy came back (at 7:15 am). At that time he had a gun. And according to a witness who gave his account on the news, the shooter killed her first and then the RA came out of his room (probably because of all the commotion) and then then the RA was shot.
*That* was the sequence of events *as reported* by witnesses and from the news.

AND, she may have dated him and gone to functions with him, as a nice and outgoing girl That’s the *connection* they would have had — and the reason he would have been able to get into the dorm and talk with her — which resulted in an “argument”.
If there was *no basis* for being there at all, then the girl could have simply told the RA that he doesn’t belong her and he needs to get out of here. But, no — he “mediated” the argument and attempted to quell it.

i’ve seen other pictures of this emily girl and she looks extremely jewish — not at all like in the picture in this thread
if he developed an obsession on her, i suspect it wasn’t a “love” one....
Greasy hair? Pickup truck? He dropped her off at her dorm at that hour? Sounds like nitwit was stalking her, knew she was sleeping with this guy over night, and got up early to observe her being dropped off! Accuses her of having sex with the guy and kills her!
