BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The suspected gunman in the Virginia Tech shooting rampage, Cho Seung-Hui, was a troubled 23-year-old senior from South Korea who investigators believe left an invective-filled note in his dorm room, sources say.
The note included a rambling list of grievances and ended with the words "Ismail Ax" in red ink on the inside of one of his arms.

This is an angle the investigators need to pursue with the school's counseling service, the killer's computer, and Dr. Ismail Ak himself.
For the shoppers among us, AX means Armani Exchange, a nice little boutique in Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus where they sell ready-to-wear Armani and where I have picked up a few favorites.
I’m just saying that the whole collection of things:
1. “Ismail Ax” on his arm.
2. A pic of fella who looks a LOT like him on a blogsite.
3. Links to that blog site referencing “Ismail ax”.
4. Lots of Moroccan content via those same websites.
5. His rants in his letter re: “debauchery”, etc.
6. He lived in the middle of an Islamic area of Virginia. (Home not his dorm)
7. Impressive shooting skills and the willingness to extend the carnage past his erzatz “girlfriend”.
It makes for a complex picture, and coupled with known active recruitment on college campuses to join Islam, using “party culture”, it seems worthy of more sertious thought.

Maybe we need to be more selective as to who is allowed to enter our colleges from other countries.
Has a lot of hallmarks of schizophrenia.
He doesn’t live in the middle of an islamic area of DC. There are tons of foreign born people all over the VA suburbs. Centerville is no more islamic than any other suburb.
My parents still live there.
That’s interesting. It could be the standalone reason for the writing on his arm, or it could be something he thought was witty when applied to the acts he was committing under other’s direction.
I just don’t know. Any way you look at it, the guy was sick.

In contrast, a lot of people are scouring the Web for a TROP connection, having to address cross-language spellings, old literary texts, obscure unrelated authors, and presume connections between arguably different words - a lot of work to make a very tenuous connection.
BTW: "Ishmael" in Arabic isn't "Ismail", it's "إسماعيل" (English, Arabic and Hebrew use radically different alphabets, so theories based on spelling differences are misguided).
Angry, hate filled and apparently out of touch with reality is my guess.

I could have sworn I saw more than one reference to him being in a particularly islamic area, physically surrounded by many islamic neighbors.

You don’t have to apologize for the obvious connections. The Ismail Ax points directly at Islam. This is supposed to be the FREE exchange of ideas.
Maybe we should all stay with the gun crazed right wing paramilitary connection the clintons always focused on. Until were sure he’s not Mooselip it should be in the mix.
