When your talking about this type of killing all possibilities whould be explored. Until he’s proven not to have any Mooselip connections, he is a terrorist. Too military for a random killing.

AFAIK, only soldiers are capable of doing what he did the way he did it.

There have been a variety of mass killings with only handguns by non-military-rained people where the total killed and wounded was at least in the ballpark of this.

Well, if there aren't any connections according to the authorities, I'm sure a Threat Matrixer will come up with info showing that his roomate's cousin's boyfriend's uncle has an accountant who lives in Michigan who walked within 500 feet of a Mosque once.

More accurately, "Act of Jealous Rage".

Unless the guns were used in other crimes - why file off the serial numbers? I think you would file them off if you were planning on an escape and may have to dump the weapons.

Careful planning and cool execution implies a lot of self control and discipline, things which are in complete opposition to an out of control act of rage.

This guy's psychologizing is pretty pathetic. People can be extremely pissed off and then carefully plan a devastating revenge, all the while hating deeply.

Do not know anything about his religious convictions, but if he turns out to be a foreigner, I think the acceptable operative phrase nowadays is 'insurgent'.

The latest on at least one of the killers (Fox alluded that there may have been two killers, one in the dorm and one in the class room) indicates that the classroom killer was a Chinese who came to America via San Francisco last year on a student visa.

This attack and slaughter was very well planned and carried off like al Qaeda and the Chechnins do acts of violence.

I doubt if many of our spec ops guys could kill 30 plus young college students armed with only two semi auto 9’s in a few minutes.

He apparently had chains to fasten the doors after he got inside so the cops couldn’t get in and maybe to keep people from getting outside.

There were false alarms re bomb via phone calls in recent days. That would be an apparent test of the response system.

Just too damn much pre planning and precise execution of detail and of innocents for a lover.

It smacks of al Qaeda or Checnia Islamofascists.

Star, I agree that we are just scenarioing our selves to death, but I’m certain that the police are, or should be, doing something similar. It just seems the prudent thing to do. I have a real need to understand how this happened, but I’m really afraid we will be sold a bill of goods, so the police chief and the university President can keep Virginia Tech as pristine as possible. Info will be lost, witnesses will change their stories and the true story will be lost!

The unrapid response by the University and local cops after this slaughter, is starting deja vue me re the bomb that went off during the halftime outside the OU football stadium.

Let’s add ANOTHER Speculation to the list, shall we??

Al Qeada funded Chinese Uighur Terrorist?

(Uighurs are muslim Han)

East Turkestan Islamic Movement

A small, militant Muslim separatist group based in China ’s western Xinjiang province—a vast, thinly populated region that shares borders with several countries, including Afghanistan and Pakistan .

The East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) is one of the more extreme groups founded by Uighurs, the Turkic-speaking ethnic majority in Xinjiang, seeking an independent state called East Turkestan.

Both the US AND China say they are a Bin-Laden linked group. For the CHINESE to even admit this is huge...

You said — “Star, I agree that we are just scenarioing our selves to death, but I’m certain that the police are, or should be, doing something similar. It just seems the prudent thing to do.”

Oh, I agree that they have to follow up on everything that they can. It’s just that some here seem to want to present certain scenarios as either most likely or most probable on the slimmest of speculation. That’s no good.

On the other hand, if one wants to try to argue a certain scenario on the basis of some established facts, then go ahead and try to do so. I ran a scenario myself, on the basis of what was reported, and it seemed as good and realistic a scenario as possible (even if I do say so, myself ... :-) ...)

.

And then you said — “I have a real need to understand how this happened, but I’m really afraid we will be sold a bill of goods, so the police chief and the university President can keep Virginia Tech as pristine as possible. Info will be lost, witnesses will change their stories and the true story will be lost!”

Certainly, I thnk we all need to understand and know what happened. This is essential for all of us. I hope we’re not sold a bill of goods, but I suppose it’s possible. It seems that there have been many other things that this has happened with, too. Let’s hope better of this.

Regards,
Star Traveler

Who knows, Ernest.

I’m heading for bed.

If the killed killer was a ChiCom or from China, I won $10 from a nice but PC mentally handicapped lady.

Early this afternoon, she was whining about what happened and the need for more gun laws and the violence of Americans.

I bet her $10 that the killer wasn’t an American. She asked why and I said, “It has been hours and no description has been mentioned. If the killer had been a white Southern Baptist, his picture would have been all over ABCNNBCBS in less than an hour after he was killed or killed himself.”

She is a slow learner, I have won a couple of similiar bets with her the past 10 years that we have known her.
