Liberals’ refusal to accept reality is at the root of many of their wrong-headed beliefs.

One sure way to know the truth about Hiss and his being a Soviet agent is that when the evidence surfaces the media either bury or ignore it.

and lets not forget the Rosenbergs whose stealing of nuclear secrets to the Soviets gave the russians the bomb.

Ethel and Julius did not get enough punishment by being electrocuted...the death of a thousand cuts would not have been enough.

Interesting time frame. I had not realized he was GRU / Spetsnaz. Given that, it is no wonder that the US semi officially supported the Communists in Spain from 1935 on, and stayed out of WW2 until after Hitler invaded the USSR. The dots are being connected.

There should be no surprise about the behavior of Bird et al. Communists have no morals, no scruples, no values and certainly no respect for the truth.

The dots are easily connected by the history of the Left in the USA....look at FDR cabinet and appointees...the surrender of Eastern Europe after WWII and the haste to get the UN established. Plenty of evidence of betrayel in the current Islamo-Lefty anti-America alignment.
Vote for Fred not the Reds!

This will be swamped by the VA Tech tragedy.

But here’s a bump anyway.

What have they got to gain? Who cares?

The Hiss case has been the liberal cause celebre for the last 50 years. If they're re-writing of history on this case is accepted as "correct", they will argue that their "interpretation" of Cold War history (e.g., the commies were never that big a threat, Reagan was a war-monnger, McCarthy was a drunken fascist, etc. etc.) is and always has been correct. The Hiss case has always been a great embarrassment for them.

Thanks for your excellent post!

I've read bits and pieces of this information but this article ties together most of the loose ends.

In the summer of 2005, I attempted to locate the site of the pumpkin patch where Whittaker Chambers hid the microfilms that helped to bring down Hiss. Although I couldn’t be certain of the actual site, the general area is a rural, wooded valley in the rolling hills just north of Westminster, Md.

Goes with my theory that the only reason we didn’t have the anti-war crap about Vietnam and Iraq was because Hitler invaded the Soviet Union.

If Hitler had laid off the USSR, and ignored the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and stayed officially neutral with the US, we’d have had as many anti-war bedwetters protesting WW II as we did 20 and 60 years later.
