You can bet your last dime that if this guy turns out to be a muslim, itll disappear from the news faster than Don Imus job...........
I was thinking the same thing. I was also...thinking the possiblility that it might be an illegal immigrant.
What a tragedy...
One other point about these school and college shootings. When you take God out of the school system and teach these students that we evolved from animals (and there are no moral absolutes) -— we shouldn’t be surprised when they act like animals. I would be surprised if they didn’t.
The two shooters at Columbine both believed in Evil-lution.

Fox News is doing the same thing. Very little actual news reporting, lots of speculation, what if scenarios, and leading questions to a student witness minutes ago.
I’d take that bet. There is a likelihood those betting it was one of “those Muslims” every time some tragedy occurs may actually get it right one of these times. But you will be wrong more times than right. There are a lot of bad things that happen in the world that are not caused by Muslims.
Whitman, the Texas Tower shooter had an excellent position, with both cover and concealment, and he'd thought about how to defend it. Still it was not long before he was pinned down and much less effective, by students who got their *rifles* out of the back of their pick 'em trucks, or out of their dorms and apartments. He had all sorts of weapons, including many more powerful than an assault rifle, and was a Marine trained shooter, yet he only managed to kill 13 people, because he did not have free reign after the first few minutes.
The usual anti-gun groups are probably having orgasms right now.

I hope you didn't injure yourself twisting this tragedy to fit your creationist agenda.
And to think, just a scant 30 years ago, I remember looking out my high school window at all the pickup trucks with guns in their racks. Ack!
Prayers for the victims and their families!
This country is diseased and dieing. We have no business telling other countries how to live.
It is interesting that you and I were discussing Whitman just 2 days ago!
We currently have a decided shortage of information about what has happened but, we already have a dreaded excess of opinion about what will happen.
I am sorry to hear about this tragedy and my heart goes out to all involved!
Head on back to du, only serious adults allowed in this forum.
In those and similar other events, the only one ON THE SCENE with a firearm was the killer. One armed citizen could have stopped this long before 20 + were murdered.
Actually there was a woman at the Luby's shooting in Killeen, Texas who had a conscealed carry permit in Oklahoma. She had a gun in her car, because Texas at that time didn't have a concealed carry law. If she had had the gun in her possession inside the Luby's, her parents and many of the other victims might have survived.
Could be, from CNN:
Police respond to reports of shots fired on the Virginia Tech campus.
From the Fox article:
A White House spokesman said President Bush was horrified by the rampage and offered his prayers to the victims and the people of Virginia.
“The president believes that there is a right for people to bear arms, but that all laws must be followed,” spokeswoman Dana Perino said
So you're saying the churches and parents have pretty much turned over all moral teaching to the school systems? I guess that makes Christianity one of the lazier belief systems going.
Yeah, those Kampus Kops sure know what they're doing.
Virginia Tech is a “gun free zone.”
This verifies what John Lott has always said - the people who commit mass public shootings prefer to do them at “gun free zones.”
Just last week, it was reported in the news that this school is a “gun free zone.”
This week, a guy came by and shot and killed 21 people.
This is a good argument against gun control. Most areas in Virginia allow law abiding citizens to carry concealed handguns, and those areas are very safe. The people who do these kinds of mass public shootings prefer “gun free” areas, where their victims are unable to defend themselves.

Virginia Tech’s ban on guns may draw legal fire Some people question whether the university has the authority to ban the carrying of firearms. How about you?
By Kevin Miller
BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech’s recent action against a student caught carrying a gun to class could draw unwanted attention from groups already angry about firearms restrictions on public college campuses.
Tech’s ban on guns dates back several decades.
Serious question.
The shooter attacked two buildings, one a dorm. What was the subjects taught in the other building? He went across campus to get to that building, indicating that he probably had some sort of reason to target it.
Anyone know what the function of the second building was?
Wasn’t it an engineering building? I think I heard that mentioned somewhere posted previously.
