Yes, thank you - have learned all about this courageous Professor! What a hero! And also what an expert in his field, evidently. I’d like to know more about his work. We already know about his great heart and courage.
Yes when we were “told” by Shep that the shooter was from Shanghai and came to the US last August (all INCORRECT we now know) that was my thought just based on this guy’s tactics and who was killed.....but now we know more......much more. Should have waited longer - my bad. Apologies to the Chicoms / not.
No offense intended, but I prefer the 'rule of law' to "practicality." As an FYI, I've sworn the oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States - and I've also had to deal (at length) with so-called "civil servants" who thought the law was whatever they said it was.
God save the Republic...
Obviously this shooter was a very disturbed individual. But he moved so methodically, and with one of the victims being such an oustanding contributor (evidently) to significant research ror military purposes - it just passed through my brain maybe he was the target. And the others just collateral damage. Obviously that appears not to be the case. Should have waited longer for more information - was going on Shep's "reporting" of a rumor that was not true. Lesson learned - ignore Shepherd Smith (I usually do).
Hey - well - now we know more - South Korean, not Chinese. Has anyone explained why he would have tried to file off the serial numbers? If he was going to kill himself? Thanks.
Hey - well we know more now. But have we learned today anything more about the shooter and the first girl who was killed? Surely there would be witnesses about that? Unless he was just stalking that female student and she had no idea....Do we know that no one else in the first locale saw the shooter?
Oh and I still keep hearing (heard Neal Boortz talking about it on his radio program) about the shooter lining up students against a wall and shooting. Has anybody confirmed that actually happened?
I just heard a student talk about the shooter going in a room and just randomly firing.....so just wondering if this lining up against a wall and just shooting one after another actually happened.
Maybe people need to send messages to both the Romanian and Israeli embassy to express thanks....as well as to his family if that is provided anywhere.
Am in awe and grateful thanksgiving for this great Romanian/Israeli Professor to have been in this country doing the research/teaching work he was doing.....What a hero in many ways. What an honor for Virginia Tech that he was there!
Yes well - they sometimes use troubled individuals to do what they want done.....but that is NOT what apparently happened here. Was just thinking outside the box of the msm - and asking about the true significance of the work of Professor Librescu to our military abilities. Still would like to know more about the Professor’s work - since he was obviously quite a patriot, quite a lover of his work and of his students and of his country! What an great honor Va. Tech had him as a member of their faculty and I’m sure he felt it a great honor to be at this great school.
How do we know if he was stalking or plotting his attack.
Pray for W and Va Tech
Sorry - I fell asleep shortly after posting last night and work for a living with some other responsibilities and didn’t get back to respond to you til now. Yes it was rampant speculation - sorry for that now. Was operating on info from Shep Smith that the shooter was a Chinese guy from Shanghai - totally without facts - just rumor and clearly now shown to be completely inaccurate. The military “training” I was speaking of was not about chaining the doors. It was what was first told about the shooter lining up the students against a wall and shooting them execution style one by one (still don’t know if that actually happened), and by the creation of (perhaps) a diversion on one side of campus to draw the police while then going elsewhere to really do the damage.
The anti-gun media and politicos should go after the pharmaceutical companies. See the 1,500 documented media accounts of prescription drug use and psychotic behavior ending in violence at:

This website is a collection of 1500+ news stories with the full media article available, mainly criminal in nature, that have appeared in the media or that were part of FDA testimony in either 1991, 2004 or 2006, in which antidepressants are mentioned. These stories have been collected over a period of years by two directors of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness (ICFDA).
Will Michael Moron (Moore) discuss this connection in his “Sicko” film due for release in 2007? Doubt that, it would contradict his “Bowling for Columbine” documendacity.
POSTER-Majority of school shooters used antidepressants

I feel we need to give the right of self protection back to the public since law enforcement can’t really do the job. However, I think there should be a training program.
I actually had that thought today (had not read your post) that this shooter might have been a video game guy - would like to know if the police / parents find that to be true...and not saying video games cause mass shootings. Just saying you're right - a lot of kids/others learn a lot about shooting from these games.
But they don't learn how to actually load and unload a handgun that way. Wouldn't that take some practice to have done what he did as efficiently as apparently he did?
That still doesn't mean military training.....
Do we know now that the Cho guy was definitely the guy who shot the girl and RA in the dorm? I know they said the bullets matched up with the guns - at both scenes - but did anybody see the shooter at the dorm? Seemed like that wasn't the case by the report at the news conference yesterday. And again, I haven't seen all the news of today about this so don't know what's been said about the dorm shooting.
The day after the Columbine murders I saw a live presser with Jefferson County Sheriff Stone who flatly denied that his department had ever had any contact with Harris or Klebold. Of course he was brazenly lying.
It's my understanding that Americans 'fight the way they train.' If that's true, I definitely agree with you - I would prefer to have a well-trained, armed neighbor (or family member - or myself), able to deal with life-threatening violations of the law...
Also we must have the legal authority to use what we have.
You can learn how to load/unload a magazine fed handgun with less than 30 seconds of instruction. Ditto for a revolver. As for "practice", the guy was shooting people at close range. That doesn't require any practice. There is no marksmanship involved. Point and shoot. If you can point a flashlight, you can shoot a target at close range without ever peering down the sights.
I'm betting the guy purchased a bunch of magazines for each pistol and filled all of them before he headed out the door. Swapping a magazine just requires pushing the release to drop the empty, inserting a full mag and releasing the slide.
