I have a few questions that seem to go unanswered:
Why is a person with a 9mm and a 22 caliber handgun called “heavily armed”? What does heavily armed mean?
Why would the police at the first shooting conclude that 2 dead with no gun at the scene be called a “murder suicide?
Finally ,this morning, when asked if the gun man was identity was known the President of VT said: “We do not know where he was from” , then in the next breath he says the gunman was a student who lived in another dorm nearby. Do they know or not? What am I missing?

It looked to me like they were setting up for a seige, but when the shooting started, they ran to the door to take it down and go in. If the guy wasn’t shooting, it might make sense to wait to assess the situation, and I think they were waiting for bolt cutters but when the shooting started they blew up the door.

You wouldn’t want to blow the door if the guy wasn’t shooting, it might scare him into shooting.

I agree with your assessment of VT officials and the police. I’m not reading any more into what they are saying than their words. They are thoughtful and measured and consistent. Some people want to know everything all at once. It is impossible for them to know everything at this point and I personally appreciate the fact they aren’t making assumptions and putting them out there as facts. What’s done is done and there should be NO RUSH on the part of authorities to make information public until they are SURE of the information. The people who want all the answers immediately are the same people who will be ciritical and SUSPICIOUS if early reports turn out to be inaccurate. Let’s just give them time to work it all out.

All I can think about is how one legally armed student or proffessor could have saved many lives.

That's what I've been thinking.

School personnel in all schools must be allowed to carry, otherwise another Beslan, or now VT, is inevitable.

My other concern is with a perp wearing a bullet proof vest. Someone wearing a bullet-proof vest will be difficult to stop.

Seriously. If they wanted to kill a professor who didn;t know it was coming, they’d just stage an accident at his house. This would be a remarkably inefficient way to take out one man. Why sacrifice your own operative from something so simple?

The Romanian professor( I am hearing on Bennett) was a Holocaust survivor, who survived THAT to throw himself in the path of the shooter as he approached his classroom to protect his students.

I am overwhelmed. He was an American citizen who had immigrated from Israel. God is certainly telling him "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
