You may want to read this:

A bill that would have given college students and employees the right to carry handguns on campus died with nary a shot being fired in the General Assembly.

House Bill 1572 didn’t get through the House Committee on Militia, Police and Public Safety. It died Monday in the subcommittee stage, the first of several hurdles bills must overcome before becoming laws.

The bill was proposed by Del. Todd Gilbert, R-Shenandoah County, on behalf of the Virginia Citizens Defense League. Gilbert was unavailable Monday and spokesman Gary Frink would not comment on the bill’s defeat other than to say the issue was dead for this General Assembly session.

Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker was happy to hear the bill was defeated. “I’m sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly’s actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus.” http://www.roanoke.com/news/roanoke/wb/wb/xp-50658

Incidentally, in order to properly maintain their sovereignty, should the People through militias be able to have tanks and aircraft? Surface to Air Missiles? Grenades? Because in order to properly challenge governmental authority they would need it.

My liberal friend, please visit THIS LINK for a refutation of your strawman argument.

the cell phone cams from the kids inside these classrooms (alive or dead) - one of them will have video/photo of the shooter as he entered their room. they have to collect all of that now.

Agree 100%. Virginia Tech administration and police carry a lot of blood on their hands. I cannot believe how stupid and careless they are. They should go to jail.

I guess the present profile allows us to remain relaxed around Antarcticans, but many other earthlings might simply fit the profile. Asia is one helluva big place and Asians aren’t limited to living there. Go figure.

Liberals are expected to be very cautious and super respectful of our values and priorities around here.

Supporting The Constitution is one of those values and high priorities.

Clueless liberal contentions are . . . not remotely favored.

Loose constructionism, beginning around the time of FDR, is also responsible for the stengthening of America into a superpower. Nothing lasts—civilizations rise and fall. Socialism will ultimately destroy the country—so would Constitutional Originalism.

The old Articles of Conferation were almost impossible to reform—that’s why the Drafters of the Constitition ignored the procedures and just went ahead and wrote up their own document. The same thing happens nowadays—the Constition is too hard to reform, so it is just changed through the Courts instead of the formal procedure.

Channel 10 reporting name of first victim - an African-American from Georgia who was scheduled to graduate this spring with a degree in three majors. So tragic.

It is on the thread somewhere....Mohammed Ciabatta or something like that was pulled over by police and they were running his license.

So many Mohammeds, so little time.

Your 541. Cops saying “no arrests.” I saw the guy on all fours in custody. Is he now non-existent?

What channel, that needs to be captured just in case. If it was a collegiate press student, we can ask why he was so close to the scene instead of away. Sure, it could be shock... never know. Was he the one that posted the cell phone video re: shooting? If not, they should have been pulled in ASAP. They were pretty calm throughout.

But the presence of a gun creates, in and of itself, the danger of gunfire.

It does? I've had a shotgun sitting in my closet for the past 10 years or so, and it's never once spontaneously fired. Same with my carry weapon. Never once spontaneously fired. No danger of gunfire whatsoever.
