IRAN is under acute threat from the US and Israel, from US State Terrorism (USST), Israeli State Terrorism (IST) and US-Israeli State Terrorism (USIST). The Racist Bush-ites (RBs), notably the Racist Religious Right Republican (R4) Bush-ites running Bush Amerika, their Racist Zionist (RZ) supporters and Racist Zionist-run Apartheid Israel (AI) have been urging “pre-emptive” attack on remote, peaceful Iran.
The dimensions of this threat are horrendous. Iran is a remote and peaceful democracy (albeit a democracy with a major theocratic input just as Western democracy is flawed by massive military-industrial complex, oil, gas, coal, construction, media, and other corporate input). The US and US Alliance invasions and occupations of Iraq (population 27 million) and Afghanistan (population 26 million) have so far been associated with 1.0 million and 2.4 million post-invasion excess deaths (avoidable deaths, deaths that did not have to happen). Iran has a population of 70 million – the consequences of a US invasion of Iran are unthinkably horrible.
The extent of the threat posed by US-Israeli State Terrorism (USIST) can be assessed by the number of “hits” (URLs) elicited by Google Searches in English for the EVIL and OBSCENE phrases “attack Iran” (851,000), “invade Iran” (336,000), “bomb Iran” (325,000), and “nuke Iran” (138,000).
The Racist Zionist and Racist Bush-ite campaign of Islamophobic and xenophobic hatred against Iran has been very successful as judged from reactions in Bush Amerika’s key ally, Racist White Australia (RWA). Racist White Australia is a country with entrenched anti-Arab anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and xenophobia that have been firmly embraced by both the major political parties, albeit with a big dose of “political correctness” i.e. they assert their opposition to “racism” and their love for “moderate” Muslims – yet all the while materially supporting US and Israeli violence against Muslims and IGNORING the horrendous consequences: the post-invasion excess deaths in the Occupied Palestinian, Iraqi and Afghan Territories now total 0.3, 1.0 and 2.4 million, respectively (mostly Women and Children) (see MWC News ).
The extreme right-wing, Bush-ite ruling Liberal Party-National Party Coalition (headed by “Honest John” Howard) and the Opposition Australian Labor Party (ALP; headed by Religious Right Rudd (R3), pro-US Kevin Rudd having recently displaced the even more slavishly pro-US Kim Beazley) are loyal supporters of US democratic imperialism (Rudd only differs over Iraq which he regards as an unfortunate mistake by Australia’s great and noble ally). Indeed the Bush-ite Coalition and the Bush-ite ALP AGREE not only on “politically correct xenophobia” and the continued occupation of Afghanistan (now producing over 90% of the world’s opium due to US restoration of the Taliban-destroyed opium industry) but also on Australia’s continued coal exports that threaten the world with Climate Genocide and especially countries with low-lying coastal regions such as China, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Egypt (Australia is the world’s biggest coal exporter, Australia is the world’s big country with the biggest annual per capita greenhouse pollution and – like the US, the world’s biggest greenhouse gas polluter - refuses to sign Kyoto or reduce emissions) (see MWC News ).
A touchstone for the vote-winning xenophobia and Islamophobia of the major parties of Racist White Australia is a leading Muslim clergyman Sheik Hilaly, for many years the Mufti of Australia but recently sacked due to bi-partisan public outcry over his public objection to the acute US threat to Iran. According to Australian media, Sheik Hilaly called on Iranians to “stand in the trenches with Iran” . I have found all kinds of reports of what Australian politicians and media THINK the Sheik Hilaly said but no direct quotes or alternative translations. The closest to a primary report is quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald and translated from the web-site Arabic,
"The mufti of Australia has called on the Islamic world to stand in the trenches with the Islamic Republic of Iran which possesses the might and the power," the Iranian Alalam News reported in Arabic on its website on Saturday.”Of course this is a report by an Australian Mainstream newspaper of a report in Arabic from Iran of what the Sheik said (in Arabic?) in Teheran last week. Who knows what he ACTUALLY said and what the literal or metaphorical implications are. If a representative of Australian Breast-feeding Mothers said that Australian women should “stand in the trenches” over “breast-feeding” here would be no problem – however if a Muslim uses the same phrase for “staunch support” there is instant hysteria, calls for his sacking, and extraordinary assertions of some kind of quasi-criminal “terrorist sympathizing.” Thus Islam On-line reports that the Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer attacked the Sheik as follows (see: here ),
“In response to Sheikh Hilaly’s remarks, Foreign Minister Alexander Downer asked Australia's Muslims to sack the cleric, describing him as "a massive embarrassment." "Here is a man who travels the world making all sorts of completely absurd and incredible comments," Downer told reporters. "This reflects on Australian Muslims and it reflects on Australia. "My view is that he has just got to be removed as the leader of the Islamic community in Australia and some moderate and reasonable person needs to take his place," Downer added.”Mr Kevin Rudd (Religious Right Rudd, R3) is the right-wing Leader of the ALP, very likely the next Prime Minister of Australia (according to current polls and hopefully so in my judgement) and staunch supporter of US and Israeli military violence (even when there were 25,000 Australian citizens cowering under US-provided and Israel-fired bombs and shells in Lebanon in mid-2007).
This is what Opposition Leader Mr Rudd said in an interview with top right-wing Australian radio interviewer John Laws (Sydney Radio 2UE, Sydney ) and as reported by the on-line by Federal labor Party (April 10, 2007; ),

LAWS: Kevin Andrews says the Mufti should shut up or stay overseas if he doesn’t like it here. But there’s nothing the Government can do, is there?

As I said, I’ve got to say I’m concerned about his call for Australian Muslims to jump into the trenches with Iran because Iran does support actively terrorist organisations – Hezbollah we mentioned before. If the Mufti is now calling on Australians to jump into the trenches with the Iranians, who themselves support terrorist organisations, my challenge to Mr Andrews and the Howard Government is have a close, close look at Australia’s own terrorist laws because I think what the Mufti is doing is starting to border on the edge of urging people to provide indirect support for the sort of terrorist organisations which the Iranian Government supports overseas.
LAWS: I think the majority would agree with that as well. I mean, he’s virtually doing exactly what David Hicks has been charged with doing.
RUDD: Well, I’ve got to say when it comes to serious questions of terrorism, and Hezbollah is a serious terrorist organisation, you cannot go out there and say that Australian Muslims should jump into the trenches with (inaudible) one government in the world – that’s the Iranian Government – who we know provides armed and financial support for Hezbollah, a terrorist organisation which is outlawed under Australian law. The Labor Party, when we were the government voted to ban Hezbollah some years ago and, therefore, what the Mufti is saying on this question is very close to the wind, John, when it comes to providing aid and comfort to those who support terrorism.
The dispassionate view of any decent, sane observer is that TERRORISM IS EVIL and comes in 2 major varieties – Non-state terrorism and State terrorism. About 7,000 Westerners have died from Muslim-origin non-state terrorism in the last 40 years (including Israelis and making the increasingly implausible assumption of no active or passive US involvement in the 9/11 atrocity). In contrast, the post-invasion deaths variously due to US State Terrorism (USST), Israeli State Terrorism (IST) and US-Israeli State Terrorism (USIST) in the Occupied Palestinian, Iraqi and Afghan Territories now total 0.3, 1.0 and 2.4 million, respectively – mostly Women and Children and largely due to gross Occupier violation of the Geneva Convention which demands that Occupiers provide life-sustaining requisite to their Conquered Subjects.
I am an agnostic humanist scientist who believes that Peace is the only way. I am of course opposed to terrorism and violence of any kind. I personally don’t like organized religions, particularly those Abrahamic religions that have an essentially “historicist” basis i.e. require belief in certain historical assertions - as opposed to non-historicist religions such as Hinduism (which has Gods as role models) or Buddhism (which is a-theistic and has a scientific methodology directed towards inner peace). That said, I of course recognize how useful religion is in helping billions of people around the world cope with the vicissitudes of life. Further, as the friend of many Muslim-origin women ranging from non-observant apostates to the strictly observant, I personally do NOT care for Sheik Hilaly’s strict interpretations of Sharia Law or his recent clumsy and offending pronouncements about Women (see MWC News ).
That said, Sheik Hilaly is NOT the problem here. The serious problem is the acute threat to remote, populous, peaceful Iran from violent Racist Bush-ites (RBs) and violent Racist Zionists (RZs). Decent people are obliged to stand up for International Law, the Natural Law and International Conventions and to oppose the continuing appalling threat to 70 million Iranians from US-Israeli State Terrorism (USIST). .
Of course there is a lot to criticize in Iran from an agnostic humanist perspective e.g. theocratic domination of the democratic system (although similar criticisms can be made of even less democratic corporate domination of Western democracies) and commitment to a nuclear power program (a very bad economic alternative to the increasingly cost-effective solar options and subject to serious security concerns).
However related criticisms can be made of Bush-ite Amerika and its Bush-ite ally Racist White Australia. Indeed Racist Zionist-, Racist Bush-ite- and corporation-dominated, Racist White Australia is committed to holocaust-commission and holocaust-ignoring in relation to the continuing passive genocide in Occupied Iraq and Occupied Afghanistan; to gross greenhouse gas pollution that threatens the world with Terracide; and an expanding involvement in supply of uranium to the world for power purposes as well as for manufacture of nuclear weapons by the West and by other countries such as China and India. Indeed Racist White Australia while having no nuclear weapons of its own is intimately linked to US Nuclear Terrorism (the most dangerous problem facing the world today) and leads the world in uranium mining, uranium exports, and the latest in uranium enrichment technology.
Racist White Australia, like Racist Zionism-run Apartheid Israel, has a profound fear of its Asian neighbours and is politically committed to intimate linkage with violent US imperialism (albeit with some disagreements over emphasis such as in relation to the ongoing Iraqi Genocide). Implicit bipartisan Australian political support for the dangerously intense American and Israeli hatred towards Iran is, in a word, EVIL. Politically correct racist (PC racist) Racist White Australia won’t, but the rest of the world should stand up against the acute threat to the people of Iran from US-Israeli State Terrorism.

How many uses of "bomb/nuke/invade" Iran are from a "pro-perspective" versus a derogatory hit piece on American foreign policy? As in "we must stop Bush because he plans to invade Iran"?
