NEW YORK -- Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton announced Thursday that Raul Yzaguirre, a prominent Hispanic activist and former president of the National Council of La Raza, would co-chair her presidential campaign and lead its outreach to Hispanic voters.
"Hillary Clinton has spent more than three decades advocating on behalf of those who are invisible in America," Yzaguirre said in a statement. "Not only is she the most experienced and qualified candidate to be president, Senator Clinton has the ability to bring people together to get results and move this country forward."
Hispanics are one of the fastest growing voter groups in the United States, especially in the South and West. National exit polls showed that 69 percent of Hispanic voters favored Democratic candidates in 2006, compared to 30 percent for Republicans. But 44 percent of Hispanics voted for President Bush, a Republican, in 2004.

The wisdom of the Hispanic vote is not perfectly obvious if one considers the political conditions in countries to the south of Texas...

“The culture has changed,” said Yzaguirre, president of the National Council of La Raza. “I mean, to walk into HEB (A Texas-based supermarket chain) and feel like you’re in Mexico is pretty profound. You walked into HEB when I was growing up and it felt like every other American chain. They’ve adapted. They’ve Mexicanized their products and services.”
Translation: All y’all illegal immigrants! Vote for Hillary and she’ll make your dreams come true!!

Yes they have, which is why I know of several trucking firms that will not deliver to HEB warehouses.
Reason: they are given a delivery appointment, then "something happens" to the appointment, and the Mexican shipper/receiver tells them they can either pay $100 to get unloaded right away, or he will make them wait a day.
Does this mean we can expect Rove and Brownback to support Hillary? After all, they can’t resist pandering to “the Race.”
Maybe you could photoshop a picture of the Mexican kid from Napoleon Dynamite with the words “Vote for Hillary” put in place of “Vote for Pedro”.

Of course, the AP won't tell us what La Raza is all about, because that would make HRC look too radical.
Seems like this deal can easily backfire on her in a general election campaign. It should give the Republicans a soft ball to hit out of the park.
