It was just announced on the "Mike and the Mad Dog Show" on WFAN (Imus's home base): Imus is out of a job on radio as well.
He will not even be on the air tomorrow.
You are not allowed to say anything to or about a minority.
They can call you names all day long - look at any black entertainment figure but you guys have to shut up.
Agreed, Imus is the pretext to crackdown on talk radio. They can do it two ways, i.e., thru regulation and intimidation. This also empowers Sharpton who is battling with Obama on who is THE black leader. Sharpton doesn't appreciate being replaced by Obama as the token black candidate. He also misses the perks that go with it including money. This is just the opening salvo.
I'll tune into WFAN once more this week -- just to put together a list of sponsors to post here on FreeRepublic in case anyone wants to stop doing business with them.
“I would not call what ESPN does journalism”
The point is do not people indeed get fired for things they say? Isn’t that the issue?
Kate
Would it help if I said I was black as well?
Sharpton on CNN Headline news gloating over another race victory.
I was never a listener, but I am outraged at the thought that a white man cannot say something stupid and appologize for it. Others have and will continue to.
Happy Birthday, Howlin. Enjoy every minute of it.
Peace and blessings,
Kate
“Do you think Rosie is scared yet?” Geez, I can only hope!!
The dirty little secret on the elimination of Don Imus is that, although generally liberal, he was strongly opposed to Hillary Clinton being elected President.

Correct! And he has been on Hillary’s TO DO list since 2000. This week’s comments just provided the opportunity. The motive and means have been there for years.
I don’t care if you snag it. I just have to be creative and make more.
Thanks for putting it on another server though. I am waiting for the one that I am using to get pissed at me.
I hope Imus calls his AA sponsor. I would certainly call mine.
Apologies are worthless. Imus should never have gone on Sharpton’s show and should have just told all of them to take a hike.
Further, he should have made it clear the issue was between him and the 12 or 13 young players and everyone else should go to hexx.
The children should not lose out because of some of these cowards out there. The sponsors who pulled out should be required to make up the difference between what he needed to raise and what was raised.
Poooh!! Bo was unleashed on Fox’s Big Story with John What’s-his-name! Dick Morris was the other guest and thank goodness he and Bo weren’t in the same room! It was something!
You are right. At my age, I would march on Washington for free speech.
