Damn! Will be on Fox today with Neil Cavuto.
The Clintons are behind this, just like when they erased JFK Jr. to prevent his running against her for the NY Senate seat.
My goodness!
I don’t know that he has ever had a lot of color in his face, I can see what you mean tho.
And I respect folks rights to see his announcement today in more ways than one.
Good for you running, btw, I used to run track but haven’t ran for years, since Al Gore invented the internet... whoot bang, plop, there it is. :-}
I WOULDN’T BE DOING THIS IF I WASN’T SATISFIED IN MY OWN MIND as to the nature of it and the fact that not only will I have an average lifespan but in the meantime I will not be affected in anyway by it, Thompson said. Now of course nobody knows the future but that has been in the history for almost three years now in terms of no symptoms and no sickness.
Ahem, ahem...clearing throat...CAPS ARE MINE!!!
:)
Amazing how far treatment for non-hodgkin’s lymphoma has come! My grandma died of it back in 1983, when I was 9. She was diagnosed at the end of 1981 and they gave her 6 months to live, but she survived a year and a half.
Best wishes for Mr. Thompson.

To: Alas Babylon! I only watched Fox News Sunday.
Fred Thompson hit the ball out of the park. His answers were direct and congruent with his previous positions and where he didn't know, he so indicated. One could scarcely ask for more.
I do note two things.
First, he seemed tense and reluctant for a professional actor; I imagine because he wasn't acting. Still, he was not altogether his old, genial self.
Second, perhaps it is his lack of hair but he seemed "unhealthy" in some ineffable way. Practicing medicine for 40+ years sometimes makes for good hunches but also equally so for bad ones. I am comparing him to my last TV experience with him which must be several years ago.
I wouldn't say anything about this but does anyone know anything about his recent health history?
As far as pardoning Libby, I agree with Krstol. This simply must be done and done quickly. When your opponents are gamey and playing "gotcha" games sometimes it is best to give them a real reason to say "gotcha." In this case, pardoning Libby would focus a minor issue to several weeks. Of course, we would need Libby to deny up and down that he obstructed justice, etc, etc.

I am not reassured by his statement that he has no sequelae of this serious disorder.
I know for a fact RJ has had work. ;)
Well, today it is, sure. But what about in two weeks?
I thought you might have something to say about that comment, rintense. ;)
Well it looks like you were spot-on.
I went and looked at him in the Chris Wallace interview...he looks fit there.
Now- as to more recently..he may well be tired. He’s been writing commentary (without assist from Katie Couris via WSJ)...taping shows for L & O...and obviously talking at all hours with people about a possible run.
Time will tell...I expect his wife loves him enough to put her foot down if she was worried about what a run would do to his health..
Lymphoma doc on FOX now..
Hehe! It is true.
Not a good way to start my morning. My cousin had this, reminds me to see how he is doing these days..........
Your link on FR:
A coworker had this same diagnosis thirty years ago. So far he has remained in perfect health.
SE Mom.... the bottom line here is that if Mr Thompson had thought for ONE IOTA that his lymphoma would in any way effect him negatively in his Presidency, he would not run. There are some people on this thread who seem to be a little “too happy” about his announcement today. I for one, as well as you, and many many others seem unaffected by this news (besides of course concern for his well being). RUN FRED RUN!!!!!!
Best prayers, Fred.
Checkbook ready willing and able.
I wonder how the media will play the doesn’t-matter-for-the-Breck Girl’s wife, but matters for Fred.
I guess the distinction the media will make is that the Breck Girl is a Democrat, and we all know they don’t give a damn about their wives.
I would like it if Bill Frist would come out with a statement about the type of lymphoma Fred has. After his endorsement earlier, I’m sure he probably knew.
Same here fellow Fred friend, same here!
