Do We Really Want a President Who Is Afraid of a Cable Network?
April 10, 2007
Fox News is Democrat Kryptonite. They run from this monster like Michael Moore from an approaching salad bar. Why?
Democrats say that Fox News is biased. Fine, lets run with that assumption for a moment. If Fox News is such a politically biased joke, then youd think the candidates would relish an opportunity to appear on their air and demonstrate that fact to the world. After all, somebody who wants to be president cant be seen running from a tough challenge can they? Absolutely. Cowardice happens to be vogue, and Democrats are determined to be fashionable at any cost.
First, John Edwards, The Breck Girl, started the anti-Fox trend by saying hed not participate in a debate sponsored by the cable net. Now hes done it again by avoiding another Fox News debate. The Edwards must have mistaken Fox News for their neighbor.
Then Barack Obama skipped out of the same debate so fast youd have thought he found out it was going to be moderated by Don Imus. Hillary, blowing a golden opportunity to stand up to the man, also declined to participate. Democrats are pulling out of so many Foxes that its starting to look more like a porno movie than a political campaign.
The latest debate is co-sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus. How bad would the verbal bashing be if these were Republicans?
Edwards, Clinton and Obama want it to appear that theyre standing up to the biased monster by running away. This is the kind of bravery of which many a surrender has been made. Somebody please tell these people that theyre running for president, but not of France.
One things for sure: there will be more Fox News debates, and more Democrat candidates trying to score points and appease their base by blowing them off, not thinking that theyve already got the base on board. But its those voters on the fence who might be impressed by witnessing a liberal David standing up to a biased Goliath at least until David wets himself and runs off screaming. The possibility of the latter is why there are, so far, no Democrats at Fox News debates.
Will Obama, Clinton and Edwards pull out of CNNs debate? Its fairly clear that CNN is biased, but of course the candidates wont avoid CNN, because its their kind of bias.
How about debates sponsored by CBS? Or NPR? Or ABC, NBC, PBS, The New York Times, BET or USA Today? Republicans wont skip out of these debates because theyre sponsored by biased entities, which is one of the reasons Ill probably end up voting for a Republican.
GOP candidates know its their one chance to have a say while in the same room. Democrat candidates know the same as it relates to Fox News, which is why I wonder if their skipping out has less to do with bias and everything to do with the fact that Fox News simply reports what boneheads these people are and theres no proving otherwise.
A presidential candidate whos afraid of a friggin cable television network probably isnt the best equipped to protect the nation from Iran, Al Qaeda, Kim Jong Il or any other threat but dammit, theyll have shown Fox News whos scared!
I don’t think “fear” is the right word - it more like pandering to the far left that they perceive as a requirement to get the Democratic nomination. And they well be right - look what happened to Lieberman when he didn’t properly pander.
The funny thing is the dems are supposedly trying to reach out to social conservatives, gun owners and Christians like never before. So, if that’s true then why in the world would the dem presidential candidates not agree to appear on a Fox News Channel debate, the one cable chanel where most of the above get their news every day? I can’t imagine that a large number of conservatives watch CNN or PMSNBC. Nice move Edwards, Obama and Hillary, real smart. I wonder what the reaction would be if any Repub candidate refused to appear on any debates hosted by CNN or MSNBC?
Is me or what but are Demos are bunch of girlie men for not accept Fox news debate
What bunch of p***ys
I’m still waiting for someone to explain how this “bias” was supposed to manifest itself in a debate among people who mostly agree. (people from one side)
I agree with you.
They are, after all, 'rats, and as such cannot run on what they really believe...they must lie. So I figure that they figure the least number of people who hear a bunch of them "debating", the better. There will be a lesser chance of someone hearing when one of them slips up and blurts out what they really believe.
I saw a post from a liberal at another site this morning. He was complaining that conservatives call it bias when the media doesn’t agree. I pointed out that he failed to mention the democrats skipping debates hosted by Fox news due to “bias”.
The libtard didn’t have an answer.
"Is me or what but are Demos are bunch of girlie men for not accept Fox news debateWhat bunch of p***ys"
A more perfect description of a dem presidential hopeful in action than I've ever seen!
I don't get this at all. Like the author and several other posters here, I think they should welcome the opportunity to maybe change some minds.
When a Presidential candidate runs away from a network, publicity for free, and a chance to appear before the public. They are running totally scared.
I bet they get away with it. They’re Dems.
It's not the "bias" they are afraid of...it's the questions that someone from Fox might actually them, that the friendly confines of the lib-media will not! The list of possibilities is endless, I'm sure you can think of several.
I been calling John Edward my pretty little Pony ROFL first time I saw him during last elections LOL!
What bother me he has nicer hair than I have LOL!
Dems have a serious wuss factor.
They ought to have the debate anyway. Label the podiums and present their voting record or clips for replies. (Or chirping crickets a time or two)
