I cannot tell you how many people have asked me about my thoughts on Don Imus. As a student of broadcasting, I know Don Imus was one of the original shock jocks. I listened to him growing up in New York City in the late 60s and early 70s.
He is a radio icon.
That said, it is time for him to go.
I, for one, am really tired of the diatribes, the humor at others expense, the cruelty that passes for funny. Don Imus isnt the only one doing this, but today hes the one in the hot seat.
What he said was vile and disgusting. It denigrated an entire team and by extension, a community and its pride in a group that had excelled.

He has already had drug and alcohol problems in the past.
I think a week in drug rehab, apologise and that is it.
“Hes an obnoxious creep.”
Did you glean that from watching him present the weather on NBC? Or has he done or said something in particular to make you feel that way?
Well put. It’s flabbergasting how easily we allow the Left to mislead us away from important issues, when it suits their purpose and to attract our attention to the insignificant, when it suits their purpose.
I guess you didn’t read the article.
It’s the same old schtick: say something rude followed by a non-apology. It’s time to bring civility back to public discourse. “Edgy” is so yesterday.
I’m sure he hasn’t. The point is, the feigned “I’m offended” so you need to be fired schtick is smellier than Hillary’s crusty pantsuit.
If he called the women of WWF a bucnh of bleach blonde white trash ho’s would Roker or any other person on the planet give a rats rear end? No.
Roker, go back to your eating.
Does anyone have a picture of the “nappy-headed hos”?
I’m confused....Are people upset over the “nappy-headed” part or the “hoes” part?.......Seems like nobody is upset over the “hoes” part.........
I don’t read anything in the article that suggests to me that Roker is an ‘obnoxious creep’. That’s the reason I asked you what in particular causes such a strong reaction about him from you.
Has the SCOTUS ruled on when the first amendment is trumped by the growing-more-prevalent “hate-speech” crime? Was what Imus said “hate-speech”? (I can’t stand him, he’s too mean for my tastes).
It seems that more and more, if what someone says “offends” someone else, umbrage is taken, the torches are lit and the pitchforks passed out. I am certainly not defending Imus, I’m just concerned that our right to be idiots is being infringed. Whatever happened to just smacking someone in the mouth if you don’t like what they say? I’m serious....a little smackdown over cocktails used to be a fine way to settle differences. Now, a national scrourging must take place.
Maybe we should make it against the law to be “offended”. That would take care of a lot of this BS.
I agree with you 100% isn’t it amazing how free speech is being curtailed in a nilly willy way, when will a white person finally throw all this rubbish in the face of the true race baiters, the so called civil rights leaders and their hypocrosy. I believe Howard Stern would not have put up with this nonsence and would in fact have pointed out the double standards.
I know, I was being rhetorical. Nobody ever conemns black folk for calling themselves such things.
LOL!
sometimes, guys, you have to DO the right thing, which means making the right choice NOT to inhale the constant obscene and immoral shock "talk" that is available...
Oy vey. Well, good for you. And while you’re at it, have a nice day.
I would love to hear rap removed from the airwaves
Anyone remember any problem when Bryant Gumball basically said the winter olympics were a joke because it was predominately white people?
Probably not, since there was almost ZERO coverage, and not a darn thing done....
Double standards are NOT the way to being viewed as equal...
Apply the same standards across the board, and THEN we’ll have true equality...
They did everything but bring out the rope.
I'll refrain from calling Roker a hypocrite of the worst order when he calls for the burning of all the rap albums that use the word ho.
As for the word nappy, it is used with a positive connotation all the time. Just go over to amazon.com, set the search box for books, and put in the word nappy. Dozens if not hundreds of books with the word nappy in the title will appear. Happy to be Nappy; Dont Worry be Nappy; Short, Black and Nappy-Headed....
Methinks Mr. Al is on a power trip.
I think you posted this to the wrong person. Certainly, I didn’t say anything you’ve quoted there.
