-Finally- after over three weeks the MSM is starting to report the real numbers and not the 12 -17 deaths the FDA and Menu Foods have been desperately clutching unto.

If you’ve decided you’ve had enough of the pet food industry and want to make your own pet food here’s a great site: www.balanceit.com
It’s run by a vet and they have recipes already made up. They cost $20 each BUT wait, there is a space to enter a promotional code which will zero out the $20 charge. The promotional code is Wal-Mart. No kidding. I talked to the rep at balanceit and yes, Wal-Mart is picking up the tab. Unbelievable.
Here are a few tips that I figured out:
1. Only do one recipe at a time. If you do more than one the promotional code will only zero out one so you’ll be left looking at a bill for the other/s.
2. You can do this over & over; just remember, one at a time.
3. They sell a powdered supplement to add to the food. I ordered the one for cats. I refuse to use the one for dogs. The one for dogs has a substance in it that I don’t feel is safe; it’s called Menadione. They’ll tell you it’s “Vitamin K” but it’s not. Menadione is a precurser to Vitamin K and is banned for use in human supplements in the U.S. There are questions about toxicity and there's no proof that it’s needed for dogs. I called the company about this and she took all the info. She said if more people would call that would help to get it removed.
There you go!

I'm pinging this because it's kitty related, but I would take the numbers given with a grain of salt, if not the whole shaker. Buried in the story are much lower estimates, and without a description of the data-gathering methodology and analysis...well, think "global warming."

My cocker spaniel, Lucy, is having some problems with her pregnancy. She was supposed to have them 4 or 5 days ago. We are taking her to the vet tomorrow.
(I heard that its possible for dogs to get pregnant and then a few days later get impregnated by another dog and have all the puppys at the date the later dog got to her but idk. If they come out like that damn hound Scooby down the street I’ll ......)

Malamine-laced gluten from China? Is it part of the fruit of “free trade” with people who cannot see life properly and might not care if they destroy us? Maybe they want to destroy us?

I haven’t seen anyone mention this, but I consider this a form of terrorism. There should be people seriously punished for this.

Almost forty thousand pets ... the mind boggles and the heart aches.
I had to get Miss Ursa tested because, as a treat, I fed her one of those packets of goo food in gravy. As a treat for being a good dog. I'm still kicking myself over this.
Thankfully, Ursa was fine--but I refuse to go back to feeding my beloved pets commercial food. Fertilizer a few years ago with Purina, fungus with Diamond brand, and now this rat poisin wheat gluten. Someone mentioned terrorism -- I wouldn't be surprised if it were some sort of stalking horse for future attempts. It does make you wonder.

I buy only established brands that use real meat as the primary ingredient. Costs a little more but its worth it.

Boy, am I glad that my boys and kitty all eat nothing but kibble and whatever human food I eat. Well, the cat does get the occasional can of purina soft, but that is ending at the finish of this case.
Who’da thunk WE would be buying wheat from China? Then again, WHY would there be melamine in the wheat?
So many questions, no answers.
