It happend while I was managing a Hardee’s.
One of the girls working for me was cleaning out the french fry vat.
We used a small fish net to strain the fat and remove particles of french fries and breading.
Well, she dropped the net in the vat.
And reached into the hot grease to retrieve it.
Just as she went into the grease, I grabbed her - I’m not sure where, maybe by the elbow and around her waist - picked her up, spun her around to the ice machine, and plunged her hand into the ice.
She came away from the incident with a little redness and some swelling.
Her Mom never let me forget - and to me, it was just one of those ‘Aw shucks’ moments.
Jinxy that is an awful story with a good outcome.
You think quick on your feet. You probably saved her arm.

Jesus! What was she thinking? Yeah, I'm sure she wasn't thinking at the time. It makes me cringe just thinking about it. Good thing you were there. And had good, quick reaction time.
